Hub centric rings

Hey I'm looking at buying some used wheels off a Civic
Center bore size is 64.1 , the Fit is 56.1 . I've looked online for Hub centric rings and there's lots in plastic , aluminum , steel . Can you actually use plastic rings to mount your wheels ??

I’m using plastic rings, they work fine. I went with plastic because people say less chance of them seizing or causing corrosion issues due to mixed metals. They’re cheap enough that you can grab two sets too. Just make sure it’s the right size (first set I got was labelled correctly but the size was incorrect on the actual rings).

Beware of plastic if you race the car: they will melt. For street driving, they are fine.

Keep in mind that the purpose of the rings is only to center the wheel on the car. The rings do not provide any physical support - it's the steel lug nuts pressing the wheel against the car which which does that. As such the rings can be made out of cheap plastic - they could probably be made out of cardboard for that matter for a one time use.

As woof said, they are not necessary at all. As long as you torque the lug nuts evenly, you will not have any vibrations or other issues. I have never used hub centric rings.

They are not needed if you are travelling below 100km/h
Try driving at 160km/h with out them........
