Good bye Honda Fit

Purchased a used 2017 Fit Lx in Sept , just traded it in for a GMC 2017 Terrain SLE2 with V6 engine . Made a 90 minute highway trip for first time and it was enough for me . the honda engine is fine, the ride
is fine , but the road noise is unbearable .

Loudest in class could be a Honda motto pretty much across their model lineup.

Great at other things, but road noise is not one of them.

I found that the tires make a HUGE difference in the road noise. I switched from Falken to Michelin and road noise decreased signifigantly

I’m sorry to see the Fit depart the U.S. market. I bought my first Fit in May of 2006. It was a 2007 model and my wife drove it until 2015. My now 24 year old son drove it until I traded it in on a 2020 new EX Fit for my wife. She was driving a 2015 CRV which my son is now driving.

The only issue with 2007 car was that the engine computer failed. The car developed a misfire and my mechanic discovered that the computer was indicating all four cylinders were missing. Obviously, not all four cylinders were missfireing. The mechanic replaced the computer with a used on he found on eBay and that computer indicated that the number one cylinder was the culprit. He then replaced the effected spark plug and coil which fixed the problem.

I love driving the 2020 Fit with the CVT transmission which is a big improvement over the five speed geared transmission in the 2007 Fit. In the old Fit everytime the road increased grade by a small amount the old transmission would down shift from fifth to fourth gear. The CVT transmission on Honda automobiles work flawlessly and smoothly. Also, having 130 HP verses the 107 HP in the 2007 Fit is a big help.

Hopefully, this site will continue to exist and I can share my experiences with the new Fit to the members.
