CVT Went at 104k Miles - No OEMs anymore
My CVT tranny on my 2015 completely went at 104k miles. The car is totally stock and I am an old fart not racing. In fact it just went while doing 20 mph. Pieces of metal came out all over the place when the dealer drained it. They also told me Honda makes no longer makes an OEM replacement so they have to source outside. I called Honda America and they basically said tough luck no goodwill support. I bought this car to be dependable and low ownership cost but this is what I get. Beware.
I suspect that they are only available as rebuilds and maybe not even by Honda since I don't see that option.
Pretty much 95% of fits were sold with the cvt. Sucks for the OP but let's be honest a few are gonna go bad premature.
We also have no idea how it was maintained. Was the cvt fluid changed and how often?

There is much more to this store than the OP is saying. CVT trans don't go bad for no reason at that low of mileage. Unless not taken care of or worked on improperly. Also CVT trans are still available at Honda new just that is a load of BS. You need to go see another dealer and get some real help elsewhere. Honda CVT's are not known for failure like the Toyota CVT's.

That said, the Fit makes half the torque and does not seem to be near as hard on the CVT. Reports of failure are much, much less common.
I looked up the CVT part# for 2015 Fits (20031-5T4-A01), and surprisingly the part is showing discontinued:

I see no reason not to. My last 3 new cars were sticks, and I never wore out a clutch or needed trans fluid (except to change it).

Yet it doesn't seem like a common issue (yet).
The Fit CVT has been extremely reliable. Any problems like yours have been rare. Your talk of class action is nonsense, not supported by anything. With 100K miles on the car I would not expect ANY manufacture to extend any financial goodwill so Honda's response is fully expected. I am disappointed that the CVT went at that mileage but on the other hand there are Fits with higher mileage than you still driving around with no such problem.
There really is not much more to the story. Trans fluid was changed at 45K and 90k miles. All other service work done. It is in Phoenix so a lot of hot weather driving. The dealer sourced a used one and install for $2800. They requested some good will relief from Honda but they wouldn't do anything. Yes there probably should be some sort of class action if this shows up more and more. Many of the newer Fits aren't at 100k miles yet so maybe the $#@^ will hit the fan soon.
After the first CVT fluid change, Honda recommends changes every 30k miles.
The recommended mileage for you would be 45k + 30k = 75k miles.
You delayed the follow up CVT fluid change by 15k miles, an extra 50% of miles over recommended interval.
This is, frankly, your neglect that failed your Honda, not the Honda product failing you.
