What Fit should I get? Must be a stick...

So I had an 07 Sport (manual) from 07-20. It just had too many miles on it for the noises it was making so I sold it to a mechanic friend for his kid. I drive a 2016 f150 Lariat but am selling it for a cheaper diesel for the occasional towing and a Fit. I miss my 35mpg! I just don't know what year I want and am hoping you beautiful sunsabitches can help!

I don't want to accessorize it too much as I'm thrifty and purposeful. I'd like to avoid a sunroof because I fear it'll eventually leak. I'll use it for commuting and the occassional car camping. I'll do most of the work myself thanks to the internet as I'm not a mechanic but figured if my brother can do it, so can I!

So what years are best and what's to be avoided? Thanks everyone!

Base model 2nd gen is always the answer. Easy to work on, cheap to run, easy to sleep in, made in Japan. No screens or nanny systems waiting to fail. I love mine.

What year do you have? With the research I've done, I'm shown that the 2013 is a year to avoid because of electrical issues, fuel pump and the A/C being insufficient in warm climates.

Also, what noticeable differences are there in the base model and sport models?

And any tips on making the seats more comfortable? Or switching out the seats entirely?

I have a 2012 Sport 5MT. The AC stopped being cool in 2017 and just need a recharge, which I got around to a couple months ago.

Other than a spark plug ejection in 2017, the car has been good.

^ spark plug ejection, definitely something to keep an eye on. I have an '09 and my AC has been fine for the past 2 years with summers getting up to 110° regularly, but you definitely feel it getting tired after running all day.

I don't know what the difference is between the sport and base is other than styling, I just didn't want any screens on my dash.

Seats might be tough as the gas tank is right under you. But I've seen people on the forums swap them. I'm 6' and I wish I had a little more lumbar support.

I agree with this. Have a 2013 Base w/ 5 speed, 99,000 miles on it.
