Tail of The Dragon

Anyone trying to do a tail of the dragon meet up? I’d love to drive my fit up those mountains.

I did the Tail (US-129, NC/TN border) last month with my VW GTI 6-Speed and had a blast. If you have the option, you may want to visit on a weekday to avoid the crowd. You'll still have a good time on a weekend though and in any case, you don't need a supercar to have fun. Depending on the route you take, MOONSHINER 28 to the east of the Tail is definitely worth a run, as is US-276 between Brevard, NC and Waynesville, NC which has a lot of curves and significant elevation changes. You probably know of it, but professional photographers dot the Tail. They shoot great pictures of every vehicle and post them on their websites for purchase.

I've considered taking my WRX there, but you guys raise a good point - the Fit would be fun as well.

I'm just not sure when I could get away long enough to make the drive there and back.

Many times on two wheels but the last 10 years or so I generally avoid it on my trips to the area.
