Excessive Oil Use-2010 Manual Fit

In the last year my fit has been using a lot more oil than usual.
The oil was changed mid November and it’s already almost out of oil. The low oil indicator light appears to not be working.
on average I drive under 20 miles a day, and maybe about 80-100 miles on a weekend.
Any ideas of what problems to look for?

Where does the missing oil go?

1) Onto the ground -
Do you park in the same spot every day? Any oil on the ground? Any obvious oil on the engine or in the engine bay (e.g., valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, front or rear main seals)?

2) Into the coolant (bad head gasket) -
Does your coolant look like peanut butter? Any overheating issues?

3) Out the exhaust (piston rings, valve seals, etc.) -
Are you trailing a cloud of smoke? Is your tailpipe black and oily?

When you say "almost out of oil" I hope you mean the oil is at the bottom of the dipstick instead of actually almost out of oil. If it's the former, you've used a quart or more in approximately 2400 miles (three months x 200 miles/week), which is fast but not unheard of. Add oil and take your car to a mechanic unless your DIY abilities allow you to correct the problem (I'm going to assume that's not the case, or else you probably wouldn't have asked where you oil is going).

If your engine is truly "almost out of oil" and you've been driving it that way, you probably want to start planning for a new engine.

The oil indicator on the dash will only come on if there is no oil pressure.

Nothing to do with the amount of oil in the oil pan (unless there is really no more oil - no oil = no pressure).
