Rusted rocker panels

Same here. Rusted in front of rear wheels.
I never noticed when I bought the auto last year as previous owner used foam and spray paint to cover it up!
is there any way to fix this?

1) Cut away all bad metal (and remove any crap previous owner stuffed in the cavity as this only exacerbates rusting).
2) Weld in new metal.
3) Prime, paint, clearcoat.
4) Wash undercarriage of car regularly, especially in the winter, to reduce build-up of salt and road debris.

If you want to go a step further:
5) Coat undercarriage and problem areas/crap traps with a product like Fluid Film, Woolwax, or PB Surface Shield.

+2

And if you have a Sport, you can remove the plastic Sport skirts (it's easy!) and spray those products inside all the little mounting holes. Use the flexible attachment hose to ensure thorough coverage.

I've been doing that on my car and hopefully that keeps the rust away. Fingers are crossed!
