Torque converter slow leak

Dealer told me my torque converter gasket is leaking. It's got to be a slow leak since I've never seen a drop of fluid on my garage floor. I'll just top it off occasionally. It's not worth the $2000 repair cost. Do the transmission & torque converter share fluid? Is that how I replenish the fluid in the torque converter?

FYI, it's generally more helpful to provide *some* information about your car. We can assume you have a Fit since you're here, but...

To answer your question, yes there is one reservoir of ATF or CVT fluid which flows through both the torque converter and transmission.

When you say "top it off occasionally," how often are you doing that? How much fluid do you have to add?

It's a 2016 fit. I havent added any yet. I just had the transmission fluid flushed & replaced a month ago. Looking at youtube videos I can find the inlet for the transmission fluid. But there's no dipstick to measure the level. Do I just open the overflow valve and add fluid till some spills out the overflow?

Seems like you need more information before you do anything. How did the mechanic know there was a leak if nothing is leaking (according to your parking spot)? If the missing fluid isn't dripping, where is it going?

What is the leak rate? How will you know when you need to add fluid? You can certainly pull the top plug at regular intervals to add fluid, but I would want to know what the real problem was.
