I bought this car from Jan London, and thought it was a bargain. There are though one or two niggles.
The Gathers Head Unit is virtually unusable. All that works is the reversing camera, but the turning predictor is inoperative. I do not have the security PIN, but I am told the Gathers unit is Japanese only, and locked to Japanese time.
The English'book of words' claims that the turn predictor can be turned off, or on, but without the PIN, I cannot access the settings.
So I have obtained an English Jazz unit,
39100 - T5A - E52 - M1 dated 2015. I am told it is just 'Plug and Play'.
I had to pay £100 to get the PIN code, and bench testing then worked.
English language, English Garmin maps, and English time.
GPS antenna and wireless antenna work, as does USB.
But, the connection to the backup camera is different,
using a 24 pin connector instead of the 8 pin connector.
I got an adaptor, and plugged it in, but nothing.
However the backup camera does not have steering prediction,
so it is of limited usage.
Either something is broken,
or there is more to wiring up the backup camera than I have understood.
It is clearly not simply fit the adaptors and select reverse gear.
So I have time GPS, and English language,
But no backup camera.
Removing the gathers head unit, I found it was a cow-boy fit,
and none of the mounting screws were fitted.
It was only held in place by the surrounding panels.
Help with the back-up camera would be a help,
but without the steering prediction,
it is of limited use.
