I took the plunge and decided to get a fit coming from a CRV
So this is yet again another update after making the jump to a FIT finally. I had a 2008 CRV and I jumped the wagon and got a 2009 fit. After about 3 years of ownership on that fit and many drives (over 10,000 miles of driving it and even a little fender accident I can say the fit has been a BREEEZE to use!) I used that fit to go to six flags with 3 adults and one child even in the rain I was scared it would slip in the highway but it drove well.
I will admit for it being a light car it did at times feel like it could swerve off the highway or that the winds from the heavy rain could make us slip BUT that's prob because I needed to drive a little slower since in rain we have to reduce our speeds anyway. All in all it has been a fantastic car!!
Only needing to replace the battery once. And brake pads pretty much it has been solid and bullet proof no major issues. OHHH The coil packs did unfortunately go out at about 180-185k miles!!!! after going at a high speed on the highway the car started loosing accelaration. so I had to pull over. I didn't know what the issue was but asked CHAT GPT and quickly said coil packs. But the car still managed to get me home even after that incident I pulled over and drove home and borrowed a family's CRV until the new parts got home...So I got new ones with new sparks installed as well. And chat gpt was 100% it fixed that issue. And all has been working well!! Honda fit has been a BLAST! And have been loving the car more and more. But I am now looking to change the headlights to led and have returned some that were flickering and having the DRL light on anyone have any issues with that? And know any LEDs that won't flicker? I got some new ones again on amazon and waiting for them to arrive and hopefully the lights won't flicker.
But my update from that CRV is that gas milage IMPROVED especially with higher gas prices sure I am feeling the costs but I am a happy camper happy knowing my car is a gas saver and sipper! Cost of ownership has improved as well not needing any major repairs. While yes I admit I do wish I had a TINY little bit more room like an HRV... The fit is just FINE for what I use.. I have also been using it for Uber Eats and door dash! Which again it will pay for itself in the long run. I love that it's compact easy to park and use. And no major issues. AC blows cold even in the hot summers.
And I am planning a mountain trip with 2 adults and 1 child and will lug my telescope in the trunk as well. I am confident the fit will do just fine! especially with those new coil packs. I am definitely gonna change the oil though before that trip since it's due for an oil change. All in all I am now a certified FIT freak hahah and have loved this car IMMENSLY!!! I am sad that they don't make any more of them because of American markets preferring SUVs and big trucks (also sad they don't make elements anymore either) But for NOW the fit is a blast!! And at 190,000 miles see it as just starting up! Next will be a HRV but that's until the wheels fall of my fit hahahaha

"Honda refreshes the China-only Fit with a new look, deep discounts, and a capped run as gas hatchbacks struggle to stay relevant China-only Fit gets a new face and limited production run. Honda sells just one trim with a 1.5-liter engine and CVT. Sales collapsed in 2025, forcing a discount-first strategy. Honda has rolled out a refreshed version of the Fit in China, bringing a distinctly different front-end design that separates it from the rest of the lineup. Built locally, the updated subcompact model comes with a heavily discounted price tag and a tight production run capped at just 3,000 units. The current fourth-generation Fit, also sold as the Jazz in some regions, made its debut in 2019 and received a modest facelift in 2022, mainly for Japan and Europe. It was withdrawn from the U.S. market after the 2020 model year due to declining sales."
I believe the "declining sales" was due to the fact that Mexico couldn't seem to produce enough of them. I had to wait several months to find one in 2015, and it was the same when my son bought one in 2020.

Right now, every single model Honda is selling has a red-flag issue for me. Number one is head room that got deleted by a sunroof, next is lackluster fuel economy, then inflated pricing. No compact car offering! The closest thing to a compact is an SUV?
US Honda needs to kick their management team to the Acura doghouse where they belong, before it costs them the whole company.

I call BS. Honda is trying to get into the market segment that overpriced US trucks and SUVs occupy. Letting your customers slip out the door in a sub-$30k hatchback doesn't fit with that strategy, so it got axed and replaced with something more bloat-y and less practical.
