Giving up

I put my deposit last August and today I finally got the word my white M/T is coming end of this month. I looked at the paperwork from the salesperson and it says the interior color is BB(beige/black) instead of BK(black). WTF... now I'm not sure if I still want it. I specifically told them I wanted all black interior. It's been frustrating last 5 month. I got so tired of waiting at one point, I almost booked a plant ticket to pick one up from out of state until that dealer told me they can't hold the car even with 500 down deposit. Anyway I'll have 2 weeks to think about it but I will most likely let some lucky person get this one. I'm done with this ****. I think I see a DC2R or EK in my near future.

If i were in your position

I would take ownership of it. Drive it a few months and then sell it. The MSRP is lower than the slightly used price from what i've seen. The demand for the FIT is huge.

thats crappy man, the EXACT same thing happened to me. I placed my order on 6/30/06, white with black interior, 5mt sport. Well it came the first week of december and it was everything I wanted but it had the beige interior. As much as I wanted the car (i have another car so I didn't NEED it), I wasn't willing to buy a car that I didn't fully like. I had to pass on it. I did decide to reorder another one though, and we made SURE it was ordered with the right interior this time. Hopefully I'll have fit #2 by May.

Good luck with everything though, seems like our combo is the hardest one to find in the country, based off my findings and what my dealer has told me as well.

That did cross my mind on the drive home from work, but I would order a black one instead that way they can't screw up on the interior. And I would try another dealership. One local dealership told me they can get anything they want in one day since they won the Honda Presidential award. I know that's bullcrap but since he was the only person that called me back about the car, I would take my chances with him. All that if I have enough motivation left in me to wait 5 more month

I decided to wait, since my current car is a civic which I am keeping for track use only and I need a cheap, fuel efficient hatchback with a warranty and something I can like. Only thing that fit that bill in my pricerange (i would definitely love an a3 or mazdaspeed 3) was the fit.

Honestly, if you don't NEED the car, I would wait for it. Living in houston, the white would probably be better for you anyway. Definitely explore your options before moving on to another car (especially 2 theif magnets, oh how I love ITR's). When I found out the wrong car came in, I went back to the drawing board, thought about a bunch of different cars, thought about just using my down payment money for a new motor and bodywork on my car, but the best decision for me was to wait for another fit, build up more money for downpayment in the process (even though the holidays put a big ass dent in that, haha)

interior

Nobody will pay any attention to the interior except for the owner. There are more good sides to the Fit than the color of the interior.

exactly, so why should he buy it if he doesn't like it?

I don't think my black/yellow Tomcat will match beige very well or any other decent looking recaro/bride/ seats.

Thats sucks, I would take my deposit back and go somewhere else. I put a deposit on my fit same as you white M/T black interior in December and its in production this week and should be here in March. I wouldn't take the car if you're not happy.

I just found out that not only the door panel and seats are different but the roofliner and pillar trim cover are also different between the two. Look like I really wont be getting this one.

3 whites available if you can drive.....

Check this out - 3 white sports available in Atlanta (some M/T no less!) - didn't say what the trim was. Might be worth a call at least if you can swing it way over there.....

I was just about to say... every dealer told me that they could trade a Fit for another Fit, as long as they HAD one to trade. I got mine in a week! There is no way I could wait for several months to have my car! I told every dealer I went to this---If you can't get me one within a month, I'll go somewhere else. Every dealer was EAGER to pull some strings and find one for me...

You're correct about that. I've had two dealers call me (one of them the one I bought the car from) and offer to buy it back. Fat chance, right? Turns out that they offer the car used with a 100Kmile warrenty and get close to $20K. ;
