AV outlet stopped working...again

My AV outlet stopped working again. Before, the fuse burnt and smoked up when I used an air pump (and it had no problems prior). AFter having my dad's mechanic friend fix it, it worked again. A few months later, yesterday, same thing happened when I switched my GPS charger's plug to the LG fone charger. This time no smoke, but it stopped working again. It's likely it's the same problem, but the reason no smoke is cuz the mechanic took an already old fuse to replace my initial one.

Is this common? I do hear 'advice' from peole about "don't use T mobile chargers. they burn" or other quacky advice, and it leads me to beleive fuses burn all the time.

both times, they burned from switching between two things. not sure if for you, you ahve both connected in series or you switch one gadget to the other routinely

I should do that. I thinnk swapping plugs has more intense current than two appliances. I used to have a ionic breeze, which has an extra outlet, so u can hook two things together.

I didnt' even know a powerstrip existed. I should get that. i dont' even know why cars come with only one.
