Gasoline gate?

Stoopit Question, I hope:

Does the Fit not have the little spring-loaded flapper gate where you insert the gasoline nozzle from the pump? Cuz mine doesn't have one. If this has been covered, I apologize. I did a search for it.
It seems like every car I have ever owned has had one of these thingies. What be up wit dat?

Thanks

Thanks, Guys, for responding so quickly. I was hoping it hadn't come loose and fallen into the fuel tank. Prish!

I think thoes are a anti-siphon feature, so you cant stick a hose down in there and then get it back out. Since the gastank is under the drivers seats, i dont think its a problem with the fit, you would have to have like 10ft of hose and manage to get it all that way threw the maze of pipes and hoeses.

If those things are to prevent siphoning, they have failed miserably. I had one on my old Monte Carlo, and siphoned some fuel out for my (now ex) brother-in-law. A knife, or even a stick, will hold the flapper up outa the way.
