First year log report

Well i know i'm a few weeks late on making this tread, but i bought my Fit sport April 20th of 2006, and so far to date i have only 10,500 miles clocked, not bad for a year of ownership, only have had 2 oil changes, and no reported issue's which have needed to be taken to a dealer (which is where i work anyways), nolonger have the Mugen air filter in the car, i think it ran to rich with it in there, so it's just sitting on a shelf for now, still not lowered, not yet ready to either, want to start doing more things sometime, but not within the next year, just currently happly with the few mods i do have, but one day i'll get a little wilder with it.

What makes you think the Mugen Air Filter caused it to run rich? I would think it would make the car run lean if anything. Did your mileage take a hit or something?

No thats what Im saying. The effect of adding a better air filter to a stock airbox would be negligible (even if it is Mugen ). If it did anything I would assume it would allow more air to the a/f ratio, thus making the car run leaner.

Am I wrong on this?

it doesnt change the air/fuel mixture enough to notice any difference.

with it on and with it off would be like driving on a warm day vs driving on a warm night.

does it add very little bit more oxygen? yes. enough to make even the slightest difference? no.

p.s. from factory, the cars are tuned to run slightly rich, in order to run lean, you need a lot more then air filters.
