2007 MT Engine Vibration at high RPM

Hello all,

I have a 2007 MT honda fit with 18K on it.

Recently I started noticing a high frequency vibration from the engine when the tach approaches 3K rpm. The frequency increases and gets worse as the tach climbs up from there.

The fit didn't act this way when new. I distinctly remember being impressed with the lack of vibration from a car turning such high RPMs.

I took the car to the dealer but they gave me the classic "Feels normal to me" garbage.

They have no other fits so I can't compare it with a MT. My wifes fit is about 10K behind mine in miles and an automatic, so hers never reaches those RPMs unless I downshift (When I do, I don't feel a similar vibration in her car).

The vibration is felt in the floor boards, mostly through your foot on the gas pedal. You also feel the exact same vibration in the stick, but I assumed this was normal. The vibration feels like ants crawling around your feet after a while.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Oh, I almost forgot. The vibration disappears when you engage the clutch (slowly goes away as the RPMs drop... comes right back when you engage the transmission again).

I have noticed this same issue in my MT just recently. It did not do it when new. It has rattled something on my dash loose. I can also feel it in the floorboard, stick, all pedals, and the steering wheel. I don't think something like this is normal.

I was heading to get my tint done today, but I'm not sure I should do anything extra to my car yet, because there might be something seriously wrong with it.

And, btw, my MT only has less than 500 total miles on it :P I just made an appointment with the dealership service department to have it looked at next Tuesday. My particular dealership did win a President's Award in 2006 for one of the best service departments, so hopefully I am in good hands.
I am just hoping that this is not the start of a LOT of problems out of my brand new car

Mine is like yours since day 1. It's not all the time
but I can feel it by the gas pedal and the shifter.
I think it's normal...
