how many keys did your brand new fit come with?
just wondering how many keys did you honda fit sport come with? Mines came with two alarm keys and one plain pocket key. I was expecting a grey valet key but only got those three keys. Let me know thanks

extra key
I got only the two alarm keys. Could someone please explain to me what is the deal with the other key? Is it a door key only? Or will it actually start the car? I thought there was some unobtainium chip in the keys that would make lightning and tar and feathers strike anyone who tried to start the car without it.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to explain this to me. I have meant to axe about this for a while now.

Valet Key not needed....
Hahahahahaha, you people are always making me run down and check my car. Checking the air conditioner, the paint for peeling, keys, etc. Thanks for keeping us on our toes.
I think I figured out the key thing...
I only received 2 keys, both alarm/black keys. My husband bought a Civic and received 3 keys, 2 alarm/black keys and a grey/valet key. The dealer explained that the valet key was so that the car could be started but the key would not unlock the glove box or the trunk.
The Fit doesn't have a trunk and mine has no lock on the glove box (does yours?). Therefore a valet key is unnecessary.
Make sense?

Okay-there is no 'Valet Key' however you can get a blank that opens the doors only. It looks like the metal blade of the regular key without all the plastic. The top of the key looks like the top of an "H" It doesn't have a hole in it so you can't put it on a key ring, but if you hide your 'normal' (Overpriced) key inside the car, then you can take the metal key with you surfing or wherever and not worry about getting it wet......and then use the normal key to drive away! I know because I got one from Weslow Honda (Thanks Tony!) when I got the spare normal key......

That is the answer I was hoping was coming; makes sense to me. Not a lot of Fit owners are likely to be the type to need valet parking very often anyhow, eh? That being said, I wonder if there's any reason to believe we need to go to a Honda dealer for a door-only key? I would think Ace Hardware or Home Depot could make one of those, am I wrong? The key is sort of funky, with its solid center blade, so maybe it wouldn't be possible. Maybe it's additional dollars for the dealership.
Thanks again,
Joe

I just got 2 alarm/remote keys as well. My dealer told me the exact same thing when I asked about a valet key. But I won't be valet parking my car unless I have no other option!
