looked and found online and in my local Advance auto store and i am sure u can find in many auto parts store a lockin gas cap for your honda fit/sport. It was like $12 plus tax...it is stant locking cap #11507
put it on and working fine..make sure you turn it couple times after it clicks

 

i bought the same exact one, but i live in cali, and mines cost me $16 plus tax everything is more expensive over here....but after i bought the gas cap i found out that there was an "official" honda gas cap w/ a lock now i want that one

 

yeah i figured in cali it woiuld be more but i was just stating that u can get one from local auto store instead of going thru honda or other dealerships and be alot less...
isnt a cap a cap..what would difference be from a honda "official" one

 

i want it b/c of the name..i kno they both do the job but i just want a honda one

you kno the string that connected the cap to the fuel door, did you cut that off?

 

College Hill Honda does have the locking gas cap to go on the Fit $34.88 plus shipping Genuine Honda Accessories, News, and Information from College Hills Honda. My dealership told me that this item did not exist and they would not recommend using any other cap other than Honda made due to the sensor on the gas tank. I think others have ordered this one with no negative results. It is funny that College Hill Honda has all these parts but my local dealership does not show them available. I wanted window vents but they can not locate any for the Fit so I am trying to talk them into letting me order from College Hill and they would install for me.

I picked up the Stant 11507, I was able to remove the original gas cap with the tether remaining intact on the vehicle. I ponder if the $Honda version would fit the tether?
