My Yakima racks are on the way and I was thinking of putting a cargo box on top. Has anyone done this yet?

 

I have a Thule Summit cargo box - about 86 inches.
I spoke with a few Honda places. Most knew nothing about what the roof could hold. One guy said 130 lbs. I haven't gotten a response from Thule about the weight of their rack system, and the Summit box. My guess is around 60 lbs. That only leaves me about 70 lbs of weight to put in the box. I'm still trying to figure out if it's worth the cost (about $300 for the rack system), and whether the length of the box would be too long for the Fit and just not work.

I NEED to be able to haul items, because i use my fit for dog transport - Greyhound Gang Greyhound Adoption. And there's not a lot of room for dogs and 'stuff' IN the car.

Hey there, just seeing this thread. I noticed that your box is 86 in long. Did you end up using it? I'm contemplating getting one that is 84 in Long but when I measure today mode concerned that it would stop the rear hack door from opening. I want to make sure I can fit skis into it. Your thoughts are welcome!
