Yeah, I got my copy in the mail today. There's a how-to article about the K20 swap, too. Doesn't look too bad.

Makes the future a lot brighter for Fit owners once warranties run out . . .

Sure. It's the Sept. 07 issue, and it has a picture of the Fit in the top right corner. The main picture on the cover is of two Subaru WRXs, and the large title on the front is "DRIFT VS. GRIP".

I posted about it in the K20 swap info.
That Fit is slow as hell. Sad that the stock Civic wasnt too far behind a K20 fit with suspension work.

Wink

a VERY interesting article regarding the Fit and only furthers the inevitably bright future in the tuner-compact market.

I don't have my copy in front of me, so I'm working from memory here . . . Wasn't the Fit something like 3 1/2 seconds ahead of the Civic? That's a good sized margin. That kind of time doesn't seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but that's a HUGE diference on a race track. Considering the Fit only weighs about 10% less than the Civic and the Civic has a much more advanced suspension design, I'd say the difference is very good.

That being said . . .

The difference could have been a lot more if one could make the Fit's suspension work better by design (difficult) and the weight distribution more even (not really possible). The Fit chassis has weaknesses built into it that make it a great street package but will always limit its abilities on the track.

I'll bet the Civic Si in the test is a much more pleasant car to drive fast, too.

When you guys say "stock civic", you mean the civic si, right? Not the 140hp base civic?

Thanks for the comments guys, the car is great at the track very little under steer, because of the suspension and extra stiff sway bar. the car handles extreamly good. the race suspension that is going on the car (that was not in the super street Article) is extreamly stuff, perfect for circuit racing. the fit is getting some new power adders for time attack this year. we should domenate the mico class this year.

I was just thinking - the Honda Fit would be the greatest car ever for the money if it remained the same price, same good MPG, but had around 150 horsepower.

Honda probably could do it, but the price would jump a few thousand dollars. Maybe in the future as cars become more efficient.
