Just ordered my custom license plate!

Yeah...It was a PITA because A. I was torn on getting the US Navy one or the Salute's Veteran's one. Florida has a bazillion tags. You can see the one I got here: Specialty License Plates Index

Anyway, the woman didn't speak English well and I didn't feel like speaking Spanish. She wanted to see if I needed my DD214 to get either plate. I was floored...What a goofy thing. Anyway, I chose the Veteran's one because the Navy one, well, my plate would look weird and people would ask questions. In the Navy for those non-squids out there, you have your rating/rank...I was a Radioman Second Class so that would be RM2. So, I figured what I got would cause questions.

Anyway, the plate is simply... "GD3". It is going to be on the Salute's Veteran's plate and they said it would be here in TWO-THREE MONTHS!! Good Lord! Oh well...I am happy. Just hope I don't get rid of the car by then!

That is still better than all of the "seaman" remarks that you might get.

As the whale said in the cartoon, "I enjoy crushing their ships, but I just don't like swallowing the seamen"!

Fit4Chris:

How long does it take your DMV to process your application? I only had to wait about 4 weeks after my application was in and I got my plate. That is a long time to wait! Sorry Fittogo - I did not mean to borrow your ID. I had four choices: 1. Fit 2 Go, 2. Fit 4 Fun 3 Prfct Fit and finally 4. Hissy Fit - kinda wished I had gone with Hissy Fit or Tizzy Fit! But with the Fit the options are endless. I may change out the plate in January when I have to renew - the great thing about WV not too many Fits and you don't have to worry about your choice being taken.LOL

Oh that is a good one! I don't think I've ever seen that one before. Me like! That is the funny thing even with the vanity plate people still ask you what kind of car is that? Of course when you say Fit they always say "What">

Cat,

The plate will take a while. I remember on my SRT-4 I had "QUIKSRT" and it took about 45 days. The DMV's site says that they have 45 days from the time they receive your request to make and deliver the plate. That EXCLUDES me going there to register it. They have to send that to the Capitol first THEN they make the plate after processing the paperwork.

Oh well! I will give them 4 weeks then call and bug the hell out of them every 3rd day! LOL.
