Window Cleaner

Since I bought my Fit in May I just have not been happy with the glass cleaners that I bought. My last try was Eagle brand but I found it still left streaks. Was at Wal-Mart this morning and surfing the automotive section - found Windex has entered the market with a new cleaner safe for tinted windows! It works so much better than what I've used in the past couple of months. Left no streaks and great visibility.

That was the first product I used and I still did not like the results. I bought the aresol can and don't know if I was not using it right but it just did not perform like I wanted. Next time at Auto Zone I got the Eagle One but did not like it much better. I used the Windex early this morning and my passinger this afternoon commented about how clean the windows looked. It was a beautiful day here blue skies and white fluffy clouds. Took the Fit for a drink at the gas station - 1/2 tank full and only 16.00 to fill it up. Then took my Mom out for a ride - she loves the Fit - the nice pretty clean windows made for a perfect drive in the mountains of WV. Take me home, country roads!

Talking West Virginia

Hey Cat, I will try the new Windex. I have been less than satisfied with several others myself. I have not tried ClearVue on the Fit, but I have had good results with it in the past.
How far are you from Beckley, Oak Hill, Fayetteville? I have been up there several times to BASE jump from the New River Gorge Bridge. Beautiful country, West Virginia. Sometimes I think I'd like to just stay there for good, but the beach keeps calling me backward from that fantasy.

Hey Steeldog:

Glad to hear you have been to WV and gotten to base jump off NRG bridge. I remember going up when they were just starting to build the span. I am about one hour and a half away from that area though I don't get up there too often. Yes we have a beautiful state. My employer of 16 years decide to take his medical practice to Virginia because of the legal climate in WV - he wanted me to go with him but I just could not leave - this is home! I don't know what it would be like to look out my windows and not see the mountains.

Sorry to seem stupid, but tell me the particulars here. Only B/W paper? Spray the glass and clean only with newspaper rather than paper towels?

I'm dense.

Thanks.

Any newspaper will work, but just to be safe avoid the front page (usually the only portion with color ink). I have used white newspaper as well as pink.

Slightly crumple the newspaper and treat it as if it were a paper towel.

Be careful if you have a tint though, I dont know what to use in that case.

The newspaper will not hurt the tint, newspaper is all I use on my vehicles. B/W only. I also use Stoners Invisible Glass, with elbow grease you get clean, non streaked windows.

Hope this helped.
