Air Conditioner Operation

I haven't seen anything posted here regarding how the Fit A/C temperature control operates. There are two modes of operation normally used in cars; I'm wondering if anyone knows how the Fit does things. 1) compressor runs full-time when the A/C button is ON and the temp knob simply works by mixing outside air with refrigerated air. 2) compressor cycles on/off depending upon the setting of the temperature knob. Method 2) is better for economy. Anyone know? (Owner's Manual isn't clear on this...)

Also, does the Fit have an automatic cut-out for the compressor when you do a heavy acceleration?

The Fit blends cooled and heated air to control the temperature. The Fits compressor cycles on and off, not to control temperature, but to prevent freezing of the evaporator coils. The Fit does not have a compressor cut-off for heavy acceleration.
