"spirited" driving mpg - no hypermilers
Alot of the mpg reports seem to be from those who admit to driving with a very light foot and accelerating at speeds that could get me shot due to road rage where I live.
What kind of gas mileage do you "spirited" drivers get?
ie: 75-85 mph hwy; 5-10 mph over all speed limits; enough acceleration to slightly pull away from traffic at a red light.
FYI- This is kind of driving merely lets you keep up with traffic in N. Dallas, it is not aggressive.

Sounds like a problem Fit, bring it to the dealer..No Fit should get that bad gas mileage.........

man i got a lucky one! i beat the hell outta my car. Flooring the gas pedal from every red light. 80mph CONSTANT on the freeways. Paddle shifting all the time, rev-matching every downshift, canyon runs once a week and i'm pushing 37mpg.

Holy crap dude, you are the lucky one although if i did that i would probaly only get 1-2 mpgs lower so im pretty lucky to!

My driving is pretty much 1/2 highway 1/2 city... while I don't floor it to leave a red light, I do usually leave people behind, and I would say I do a good bit of "spirited" driving. I also do around 5-10 mph over the speed limit at all times.
For a while, I was only hitting around 29-31 mpg, but ever since the car hit 5,000 miles on the odometer, I've been pulling 36-38 mpg easily. I was in Atlanta a couple of weeks back, and on my way back home (to Charlotte, NC), I made 39.8 mpg on a tank of gas, and that was with cruise control and A/C going the whole time.

I agree, after about 7000km (4300 miles), milage started to improve. I'm usally around 34mpg with 80% city driving. When the car was new, I barely cracked 30. Driving style seems to matter considerabley. I've got a Scangauge II on the way to help with that. I think I'll post a little report when I've had some time with it.

Wouldn't count on it, at least any kind of significant difference, that idea is more of a myth than fact.

Well I'm definitely willing to live by this myth... my difference in mileage is just too dramatic to go unnoticed, and nothing changed but the mileage on my car.
