Thumbs down If you have the white Fit, please share

Ok, here is the first problem: My Fit is white. It was the only sport model they had at the dealership... their fault, not mine.... Well, maybe a little.

the problem is, whenever i walk out to my car (especially at daytime) the paint of my car attracts all sorts of bugs! i've never had this problem before! it is almost impossible to go get something from the car during the day without having to worry about getting stuck be a bee, or have a grasshopper fly in your eye! and yes, that did happen to me.

another one is, the smaller bugs easily make it into the cab of the Fit. hearing the sound of a fly is common in my car now, i've had it 3 months and it still has the new car smell, i just don't get it.

I bought it in Phoenix, and have been in colorado a month since i got it up until 2 weeks from now. anyone have this problem with theirs? of is it just this filthy city i'm in that's doing it?

i also hate when you clean the back window, you're better off washing the car instead.

White fits get too dirty!

(and i hate dead bugs on my bumper)

Use a claybar next time you wash your car...it strips all the contaminants that are actually on your car. That will probably solve your problem...if not, then i have no idea.

Your White Fit is not alone. I just got my MR Fit in May and I swear the bugs love it! Especially this summer we had these bright green bugs - I have lived in this town 51 years and never saw a bug like this. They love the Fit ! I actually wondered if the bugs came over on the boat with the Fit and considered it home. Might have introduced a new line of bugs into the eco system.LOL!!!! Here is a picture hope you can see the green bug on the bottom of the car.

claybar? what in the world is that? i gave it a slight wax on sunday, seemed to have helped.

the bugs are on my car only, not an my wife's blue malibu right next to mine.

i want to paint it yellow, but only have money for the cheap paint. ha

i think bugs landing on cars happens to a lot of colors, especially if they're bright or flower-colored, like many fits are. same thing happens to my blue fit. and my friend has a bright yellow car so there's bugs on it 24/7

this summer i was driving and heard a buzzing in the back of my fit.

turns out a gigantic dragonfly somehow got in the back and was flying around for a while, so i had to pull over and open the hatch to let it get out.

good times

that is the 1st time that's happened to me, hah.

Same car - same color - same city, even - and haven't noticed the same problems. I guess I really don't see my car too often during the day because I'm at work, but even so. How do you suppose the bugs get IN the car?

I will say, though, that the smattering of bug guts gets a little extreme after about a week and the dirt trails from water do stand out, but a steady regimen of weekend washing keeps it in check. I love the Taffeta White, and I'm quite surprised they discontinued the color for the '08s.

But you're right about one thing - we do have a dirty city...

After i wash the my white Fit, flies and other bugs seem to be attacted to the car...

it is the same with my white integra, .... but doesn't happen with my black civic.. may be i just cant see them when on a black background??

i find the black civic harder to keep clean than the white cars... its easier to see the water marks, swirl marks, fine dust and finger prints...

i get small bugs in the cabin too... i might get myself a pollen filter to stop the bugs entering through the air system

I have bugs on my White Fit all the time. They're usually splattered all over my front bumper/hood from my 80-90mph night cruises :P

That day I helped my friend black his headlights, we washed our cars just before those pics I took.
He had so many love bugs on his car. Just sittin on it. My Fit had none at all.

Im sure it has something to do the brightness of white. Same reason bugs are attracted to light.

That looks like an Aphid(sp?)... I've seen them mostly on roses when I've been stuck out outside doing yard work/gardening. Annoying pests is what they are.

Thanks for telling me what kind of bug this is. We do have a neighbor two houses down that has rose bushes in the front yard. I've lived here for 8 years and never had these bugs on my old Ford Ranger - but this summer before I would be finished wiping down the wet car - they would be all over the Fit. In the morning I would go out and they were all over the car - just had to take a picture of this when I found this big one sitting on the side skirt.
