Trade fit for fit???

this is prob another one of my late night ideas that i wake up in the morning and wonder what the heck i was thinking..........

BUT heres my crazy idea...i have a NHBP automatic fit, 100% stock, 14k miles, driven like an old lady owns it, and its paid off. Its got a cracked windshield (darn rock...ruined my day) which would be fixed, and 2 small 1" scratched on rear bumper where i dropped my bike when i was unloading it.

and id like a 5 speed, dark silver (i think its the SSM silver color) with equal or lesser miles.....and i want and EVEN trade....

my question would be would a dealership do that??? or does any body have any ideas? i LOVE the NHBP put 1.its a pain to keep clean. 2....im a manual kinda man who needed a auto and now i dont anymore.

i am getting 16' gold konig heliums...ive gotta pick them up from a friend, and i think the gold rims might looks good on the silver...nice contrast.

With equal or lesser miles and an even trade?!? I highly doubt they'll do it. They have to make money out of it.

They'll probably get you to trade it in and finance a new car they need to get rid off.

If however you do try, let me know how it went. I'm getting kinda tired of my silver one.

ok so ive got 14.5k i think i could get a car with a LITTLE more miles id think about it,

...so the dealership could get a car with a few less miles, and an auto which is worth more.......so im hoping so...

and the dealer does NOT have to be local, i could handle a roadtrip.

any other input?

Why not go round a little, call up some dealers, try it out and let us know how it went? We can all sit here and speculate all day, but in the end it's still up to the dealership and what their current motivations are. Nothing is impossible.

i havent had time to call yet, but ive emailed a few dealerships and ive had some replies.

one said that they have done even trades before and depending on the condition of my car they said its a possibility.

another said he didn't see a problem, just wants to look at my car.

Im not specific about where the dealership would be located so i'm hoping somewhere in the states they would trade my fit for theres. I would also get a fit with more miles than mine, maybe just get the extended warranty so i could have more peace of mind.

any and all input is appritiated. Thanks guys

the one guy I was talking to said he would give me the full value of my car and everything.....but id still have to pay tax on the other fit....so since i just bought my car in may, im not paying tax again. so i'll just keep looking....or suck it up cuz i was the one who didnt want to wait 3 months for a manual.

Dealers will do almost any trade, IF you are willing to pay what they want..

You will more than likely have to pay a little difference but at least you'll have the car you want ... without a cracked window!

Go 4 it!

high five to that!

i'll be in florida for a little while, and my friend down there said when he has traded cars in the past you only pay tax on the DIFFERENCE of the price between the two cars. so a $15grand fit for a $16grand fit...you pay tax on the $1000. and some other misc fee that they try to charge.
