My fuel economy since km 0
My fuel economy since km 0
2007 Fit LX:
- Automatic transmission
- Stock steel rims/tires (so far)
Notes:
- Mostly city driving
- I always fill the tank 'til the pump clicks off, never more

I'll update this once in a while if people are interested.

Good job. I used to do this, but I gave up because I was happy with my mileage (even if it's lower than I prefer, but I live in SF anyway so I can't complain)
Are those imperial or american gallons?

US liquid gallons.
I'm going to keep doing it and look for trends later on.
Once the OEM tires wear down I'll throw some snow tires on the 14" steel rims, and probably pick up some of the 15" OEM alloys so the summer. I'm curious to see the differences in fuel economy, especially since the 15" OEMs have a 3% greater circumference (= 3% lower RPM at any given speed, although your speedometer will obviously read 3% off as well).

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. The STi averages 22 on premium (26 on long highway trips) no matter what I do (except extreme hypermiling, which is pointless in that car, but got me 29 MPG once). I am a different person depending on which car I'm in
I still take corners and ramps fast in the Fit though. After all, keeping speed as constant as possible uses less gas than braking and re-accelerating

So far, I'd say roughly 15,000km by the looks of it.
[edit: see graph above]
It'll probably take another year before I can answer that for sure 'tho.

If anything I think I drive it a little "harder" now then I did when I first bought it.
I put in a VTEC indicator light soon after I bought it, and for a while was trying to keep it in the one valve/lean burn mode as much as possible. Now I just drive it without giving that much thought.
But in general I have a pretty light foot - I don't think I've ever gone WOT.
Everybody gets better fuel economy in the summer, so it'll really take another 12 months before we can really compare. I'm hoping it'll stay below 8 'tho.
Lifetime average (so far): 8.1l/100km (29MPG)
Average for last 10,000km: 7.4l/100km (32MPG)

Just got back from a business trip to Halifax (took the Fit). Numbers are in the chart/graph in the first post.
I was hoping for a little better fuel economy on the highway, but, we had two big guys plus tools in the car (totalling ~400kg/900lbs) and a lot of it is mountainous terrain so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. It is also getting colder (average temp was about 0C) and that hurts fuel economy as well.
Power was fine going up mountains - I was a bit worried the car would be underpowered when we left. I wouldn't call it "tons'O'power", but it was certainly adequate.
Highway speeds were averaged between 100~120km/h. 70% dry pavement, 20% wet, 10% snow.
Anyways, good to see others keeping track of fuel economy - keep it up
I bought my other half a Toyota Echo ('00 Sedan - 37,000kms - dealer maintained - like new) so we'll be comparing both cars once she gets a few tanks into it.
