Car sickness?
Yesterday I took my 2 week old 2008 Fit sport MT up the Angeles crest highway for the first time to do some hiking. The Fit behaved beautifully on those curvy roads, far better than my previous vehicle.
However, my girlfriend got really car sick in it, we had to stop several times on the way to let her out and walk around for a few minutes. This never happened in my 97 mazda protege on the same road.
She claims the Fit is "too smooth", and on the twisty roads this equates to car sickness. Anybody else have this problem?
Also, I never had a problem with the large A-pillar until driving a mountain road, it really gets in the way on blind corners.

My wife has the same problem on lowered car. The Fit's suspension is not as forgiving as your Mazda. I did the same thing on windy road and push the Fit a bit more and my wife could definitely feel it.
I just make sure there are enough fresh air and opening up the windows help sometimes. I have to learn where her threshold is on each car and you might have to do the same

), either buy her some Dramamine or some Peppermint lifesavers.
My wife gets car sick in my Fit.
She's got no problems in our Civic (for comparison). I think it is because you feel every bump/crack in the road in the Fit. It's too stiff of a suspension for her liking (I love the ride!).
Her '96 Civic does ride like a luxury car (smoother and quieter ride) compared to the Fit.

Exactly! Our other car is a 98 Civic, and she is fine in that car on the mountain roads.
I used to get motion sickness when I was in the Navy. I would start snacking on saltene crackers....10 min later I would be ok. I used to carry a few in a bag in my pocket. If it worked while being on a warship in the middle of the atlantic...it would probably work while being in the Fit.
