Canadian exchange rate

The current exchange rate from US vs Canada over the last 12 month has changed dramatically and it’s hurtin. In Jan of 07 it was 0.85 USD to 1 CAD now it’s 1.05 USD to 1 CAD. What does this mean? It’s means a 30% increase in all products bought in Canada…meaning that J’s Racing Exhaust in for $610 CAD was $520 USD brand new in January is now $640 USD today….that hurts. Just something I noticed….

Good for the Canadians. I've read they were getting pretty good deals on cars.

yes, they must be buying up all the cars south of the border to them....plus they could be buying houses at a really awesome exchange rate...image a house that was 1 million is now only 700k that's a big difference.

its not as good as you think. most companies who print stuff in usa and candian prices, still usually have the usa price as lower. and we still pay the higher cdn price. not to mention ordering off the states over the last few years, its not like we havent got shafted seeing shit was soo much cheeper down there. you may say lucky us cause our dollars higher, but most the stores up here still havent rolled back their prices to reflect the market (some have though)

well if any company plans to print any pricing in the next few months you guys might be getting better deals for the next year or so. And seeing that a 30% increase in the exchange rate is going to hurt a lot of US companies selling to Canada, but we are also going to see a lot of Canadian companies profit jump sky high due to the exchange rate.
