Thinking about getting one, have a question
Hey all. I am thinking about having the Fit be my first car. Right now I am looking at the AT Vivid Blue Pearl, stock but will definatelly mod the holly high-hell out of it!
.
Now in the thread talking about things people hate about their Fit, people mention that the seat is low to the ground, and there is a lot of blind spots looking out the back window. Now I'm pretty short, 5"5-5"6, so will I be able to comfortably ride the car?

Im 5'6" and have no problem with blind spots. After going to the SF intl car show over the weekend and sitting in a ton of new cars, it was nice to get behind the wheel of the fit because of the great visibility and there really isnt any big blind spots.
I picked up my '08 fit base 5MT just one week ago and I have to give it 5 of 5 stars, first off im 6' 2" and it is easier to get in and out of than my wifes '98 civic and even the '08 civics I test drove, comfortable seating, has plenty of get around power in town and on the highway, good amount of storage for such a small car and the ability to change the way it holds cargo looks like it will be a nice feature for future uses. I want to mention that I test drove a civic si and found that the fit has a bigger fun factor (this was a suprise to me), the manual transmission is flawless, and the steering is very precise. I ended up purchasing the base because it has all of the features that I wanted or needed.
As for blind spots, take out the back headrests and you'll be fine. My girlfriend loves to drive it, she's 5'1" and has no problems with visibility. Have fun my friend!
for some reason i think that this car was meant for shorter people. i am currently in the market to buying one also. i test drove one and cranked the seat all the way back and the steering wheel is just way to far ( have to fully stretch out my arms) if i end up getting one ill prolly put in an aftermarket nardi steering wheel to extend it out cause i love my steering wheel nice and close.
tilt
tilt your seat upright. My seat is all the way back and i tilt my seat more upright and have a perfect seating angle and im 6'2". Although i feel like im driving a Odyssey now its doable anyways and i dont get that "my arms are stretching" feeling.
I am about 5'4 and I love the sinking down into my sports car type feeling I get with the Fit! I am old - 51 and have osteoarthritis in my right knee from an old horse related injury but it does not bother the knee. No blind spots just like above if it is a problem removing the back headrest when you don't have riders in the back seats will solve the problem.

I'm just under about 5'8" and I am very comfortable in my Fit, although I would have liked the seat to be just a tad higher. There is one pesky blind spot on each side of the rear of the car though.

Hey man, I am about the same height, and I love the car. It's actually quite comfortable. It's a pretty sweet car to have!
vision
I dont know guys, how about those fat A pillars?
sometimes I find a car hiding behind them at an intersection.
as for rear vision its fine.
my mpg keeps getting better (up to 35 mpg) sport-auto.
handles better than my girlfriends *** miata.

The pillars in the front are the only blind spots, but they aren't that bad...
Do you mean tilt the back rest portion of the seat upright? or do the seats themselves tilt..?
