2008 Fits Pulled off Dealer lots
i just got back from taking my fit in for this recall.
turns out the dealership needs parts for it, and they were sent 5 sets of parts for the 5 fits they just got in stock, which they needed to install before they could sell them.
so he told me to just check next time i get my oil changed, because he most likely won't be getting the parts for another month. in my case it's not super-urgent that it gets replaced, as nothing is actually wrong.
really, they could've told me that before i wasted an hour in their waiting area

parts?!?!!? what they ran out of electrical tape? wasnt the only part the little shield for the wiring harness?
Sigh, wish I'd seen this thread before making the 30 minute drive up to the dealer to drop off the spare key for my old car. I just checked my VIN and I'm affected. Even though I live in Phoenix, I'm worried about the trip to Prescott and Flagstaff I'll be making in a few weeks, so I'll be sure to get this done before then. Thanks to the original poster for this information!
I hadn't seen anyone point this out, but to check if the dealer had already fixed the problem on your car, the bulletin instructs the dealer to punch a hole above the 3rd letter in the VIN located in the engine bay for any vehicle they've performed the fix for, so I'd check that if you're wondering if the dealer has already taken care of it!

yeah, double sided electrical tape was what the guy said, i really should just try to do it myself. but instead i will be lazy and let honda do it in a month and a half when i get my next oil change.
Someone had posted up the actual Honda service bulletin that tells the dealers/mechanics how to fix this issue, and there is a parts kit that they use to fix this problem.
I took my Fit in and they were out of the kits too. So I'm getting it done next week. They knew about the problem, looked me up by vin and there were no problems. The did mention that the letters from Honda would not go out until the 17th of December alerting Fit owners to this problem.
I'm glad I'm a member here as I probably got in a lot sooner than I would have after the 17th.

New poster. I am looking at a used 2007 Fit but wanted to test drive one fist. I call the local Honda Dealer last Thursday and was told they received a call from Honda that morning telling them to pull all the Fits off the lot and no one can drive them. Something about a wiring problem. Does anyone know anything about this and what the problem is and if it also involves the 2007?
