Fit vs. Share w/ sister RSX-S and last gen. GS300

I really like the fit but the chance of driving an 05' RSX-S and a Lexus GS300??? That is kind of a large stretch. What do you guys think?

HAve you considered the civic si? It's better than the RSX in every way except for leather seats, although people would say civic's non-leather interior > RSX leather interior.

It costs too much, my friend has one. It's okay but i perfer the RSX over it. Plus she is getting sick of manual so she wants to share a automatic with me and i can use her RSX.

But the fit is so awesome. Only minus is the crappy paint, otherwise i like everything about the car! even if it is only 109hp

Oh and also i forgot to mention that my mom would probably trade with me some days too... that means i can cycle between RSX-S GS300, and 2003 BMW 330i! wow... this is such a hard decision now... Fit is sooo awesome.. but is it as awesome as this?

The RSX is a hot car right now. Everyone is out for the K and my friend got his car stolen. For the fit I feel that it is still under the radar so thats a plus. I don't like to be worried about my car being taken or stolen. Peace of mind is always something that I put into consideration. As for the GS if you just look at the old model it is just obsolete compare to the new one. Also to find one with low miles is close to impossible. Just my .02 cheers

im sure the DC5 is a lot better of a car (quality wise) but u have to consider what u will be using the car for. (commuting, toy, etc) Cause the dc5 gets worse mpg and uses premium so...weigh your pros and cons
goodluck on the decision though, i know how hard it can be, ive been in somewhat of the same position

I've owned the 06'SI 2-dr and the 07"SI Sedan. They are both great cars. I especially liked the 4-dr version, extra doors for the kids to get in and out of. But sadley ( ), I traded them all at the end for a Honda Fit. It was definitley tuff, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I have driven an 03' RSX type s, but I like the 4-dr SI much better. I've also driven a 01' GS300, definitely more luxury than either RSX, SI, or Fit. But living in WI, that fwd is the way to go.

204snic - Why did you trade in the Si for the Fit? I'd think by having 4 doors, it'd be almost as useful as the Fit. Or was it because of MPG and insurance?

p nut, the Fit is a better in mpg and is cheaper. I was only using the SI as a work commuter (90 miles round trip 4days/wk). By the time Friday came around, I was too tired and just let the SI sit in the garage. Insurance wise, it was still pretty cheap for me 360/6mths . Now I want to make the Fit handle like the SI. Maybe even a 5-lug conversion down the line . Let's see our rim offsett is 55mm, right. But, accordguyintake, I would still go w/the Fit. That is, unless you've got extra $$ to get the RSX-S or the GS300, plus insurance.

Of course the Fit dude! RSX-S's are nice cars but sharing cars kinda sucks. Fit can be way better looking the an RSX if you just put a few things on it.

RSX > *
The civic si weighs more has less power and is limited by traction control. I regret selling my RSX but I do love my fit. The only thing I didn't like about my RSX is that it was a ding magnet.

That isn't traction control it's a slip differential. Its like a two wheel all wheel drive. When making a turn, the outer wheel spins faster. I never drove a si, but I drove a RDX which does the same thing except with all 4 wheels, and believe me making a hard sharp turn with that huge SUV is impressive. It's so agile. I assume the si is almost as good. The decrease in speed is worth it because Hondas are known for their handling not their torque.

I don't think the less power statement is true. I think the reason the si has less hp is because the horsepower definition got revised. Don't quote me on this.

The SI has MORE power for sure. Just look at the Dyno's for the baseline SI vs a RSX Type S. Plus the LSD make the SI a much bigger competitor on the track in stock form vs the Type S. Which is why the RSX is now discontinued. Don't let the OEM numbers fool you, the same goes for the S2000, underrated from the manufacturers.

Yeah man the LSD is a good thing to have. Also, I thought the RSX is being discontinued because Acura is trying to change their image more toward luxury, so now entry-level is a TSX instead of an RSX.

Man, I would love to be the salesman at your dealer. You have "sucker" painted on you! Why would you trade in 2 new cars, go upside down on loans?

The Canadian near luxury / luxury market is a totally different animal from the US market. But that may change especially since the value of the US dollar has plummetted, so the Canadians now have more buying power.
