Does this look ugly? (new stereo install.)
i think that's the 12v power it would send out if you had an oldskool
car with the extending antenna.
try it without it hooked up(while your stereo is not bolted on to the dash)
and see if your AM/FM works. if not, just hook it up to a switched 12v.

you can just leave it capped its for a motorized ant. but there might be a blue wire coming out of the kenwood adapter wire them together if there is one there - or look at the labels on the wire bc it might be orange just make sure its the same name
sorry, i didn't put everything up yet. i gotta buy those clamps. i lost 2 when i took the HU and i broke 1
.i went to three stores looking for this clamp and they don't carry it
.
my final exam is scheduled tomorrow, so i can't really spend time on this. i will definitely post the picture once i 'm done.
btw..where can i get those clamps (the ones that hold the HU..there are about 6 of them)?>>> i went to radioshack, home depot and murray's auto<<<

clamps(?) im not sure which ones you're talking about but as mentioned
above, majority of the HU is held by screws. a few clamps is not going to
make much of a difference.
you can get some automotive grade 3M mounting tape at autozone
and use that to help support it.... or try the dealer. im sure they have
those 'clamps' you're talking about.
good luck with your test tomorrow!

today, i popped in a cd-r with like 17 songs in it (wav format). it played very well until song #15. it plays #16 and #17 with pauses

i tried another cd-r with #14 songs in it and has the same issue. this time it won't play the last song...wtf
i decided to return it at first, then thought to give them a call. the guy asked me burn the cd with 4x speed. so i'm gonna try that. if it won't work

i would never recommend a kenwood player.these cd's were playing fine on my stock system.

my cd's were playing fine in my old dash player (OEM)
just now placed an order for a new sony player. MEX-BT2500
Update:
they sent me a return label.it is valid until january 8th , so decided to test the player with different media (CD+R) (also i'm lazy to take the whole thing apart and put it back)
and also it did recognize the full mp3 songs..it was my fault. it was in 5 different folders, so when i scanned through the songs it went upto only 51 songs. the rest of the songs are in folder2...folder5. i don't know how the folders came in because i used WMedia player to burn the disc.
anyway i will try some CD+R's and will report back.

well in the old (?) days, some players could playback purchased CD's
but not CDR's even though they advertised it can playback CDR's.
mainly due to the errors CDR's have from the initial data writing (mechanical
vibration of your player and recorder/not enough resolution, etc) or
from wear. yes, CDR's have a shelf life... and also any scratches/smears
caused by handling. CD/CDR players have wat they call 'error correction' and
it basically guesses wat the drop out was suppose to be and pretend it wasn't
there. but lower resolution players aren't good at filling-in those dropouts.
not saying your player is cheap in anyway, but when you buy lower-end
units they use old technology for cost-cutting sometimes and they
perform barely wat they are advertised for.
but good to hear your players working.
so...let's see some picts
when you're done.

here is the pic, every1 looked for
it really looked nice with the blue/red display during night time but unfortunately

I have just installed a Pioneer AVIC-HD3BT (AVIC-Z2 in the US) and I am very pleased with it so far. I'm just going to burn a CD-R with some pictures now to test new background pictures on the AVN unit later this evening. I will also test MP3 from CD, CD-R and DVD-R disc. I have tried Audio-CD and DVD movies and it works perfectly. I think the installation looks nice too.
Don't mind the little scratch in upper right corner, I was trying to pry the unit out with a screwdriver... (the clamps hold it a little to good).
And my clamps is reusable, so I can use them again when I'm finished with the installation.
I'm just missing two things: I have not found the VSS signal in my car (diffrent from the USDM FIT), and I want an adapter for the remote controll buttons on the steeringwheel.
Have installed the Bluetooth adapter and the USB adapter.

wth... that sucks. hope you get that worked out some how.
