Does this look ugly? (new stereo install.) UpdateD..

i was able to take out the OEM stereo and was trying to install this kenwood player. on the manual it says that, for japanese car i would have to take the rubber frame surrounding the stereo (can be found on the bottom of the pic). now the thing is that there is a small but noticeable gap under the stereo.i don't know what to do with that is it supposed to be like that or not?

i think it looks alright. use a heat gun to heat up the plastic piece
and bend outward to shape it. you'll have to heat it to the point
it's very hot to the touch.

or maybe you're talking about the gap around the HU?

if so, you can use some foam or felt sold at Michael's Arts&Crafts
or similar to fill up the gap. should look pretty nice.

or just hotmelt (hot glue) that plastic vanity bezel on top....
many ways to do it.

^^ i was talking about the gap under the HU
anyway i'm gonna install it and try some black filler or even a black sharpie
thanks for the quick reply. i'm not yet done. i gotta take one screw off the last HU (actually from the heater thingy). i tried various screwdrivers but this one won't come out. i may take it to a workshop and see what they can do.

its your stereo your going to be looking at it more than any one else, it looks fine and like ^^^^^^ hot glue could do the trick to get that bezel to stay put. be cool to paint to match the car before to add touch.

I wouldn't say it looks ugly, but it doesn't match. It's hard to do that anyways nowadays with most cars.

it has a "L" on it so i would imagine you would. test fit it and see if you need it.

just pull the assembly and the knobs come flying off easiest way
there might be a way to slide the HU farther out and use different screws and then the ring should clip on - if u leave it where it is you proly wont notice it - also try attaching the ring and then mounting the unit and sandwitching the unit behind that back of the assembly -- that was fast shipping did you upgrade or just standard?

as far as the bracket goes it doesnt look like the one that screws onto the dash but just holds the hvac together with the radio--
---its gonna be a bitch getting those two screws back in the ones that go up and in under the radio once its all back in the dash- USE A MAGNETIC SCREWDRIVER OR SOCKET WRENCH to hold the screw/bolt - they were such a PITA to go back in at the right angle and kept on falling out you have to pull the whole thing out to find the damn thing and its usually jambed into the geared knobs for the hvac
and ya i eventually gave up and left them out hopefully you will have better luck but im flying without them now the bottom peice holds it al together pretty well

DONt DO it! haha
save yourself 5 dollars and spend .97 at walmart on aroll of electrical tape- from my small experience doing 5 or so installs ive tried them things everytime and just use tape its way easier and you get IMO a better connection becuase the caps always seem a bit loose - just wrap the whole end of the wires so nothing is bare and then you can remove it easier too if you choose

okay, another "problem"
what am i supposed to do with this blue wire on my antenna adapter

on the item description , which can be found here> Click
it says,
Installation Note: A blue wire is attached to the antenna adapter. When installing the adapter, the blue wire should be connected to the antenna turn-on lead of your new head unit.
where is this turn-on lead on my player?

also, when i connected my negative terminal of my battery the airbag indicator did show up. do i've to take it to the dealer or will it go by itself if i connect everything next time?

thanks in advance
