Which gas do you use?

I just had to do my first fill up on my new Fit, and I was curious what octane fuel everyone uses. I previously drove a VW Golf, and I got in the habit of using a middle grade 89 octane. I noticed in the Fit owner's manual it said you could go down to 87.

Anyone have any thoughts on what's best to use? I instinctively grabbed the 89. What do you use or recommend?

Do a search and you will find plenty of good info, but 87 works the best for the Fit.

Honda calls for 87 octane in the owners manual and that's what works best. If it makes you feel better to throw away your money, then go ahead and fill it up with premium. The car won't know the difference.

Agreed. No point using anything but 87, since that is what the engine is tuned for.
