dealer screwing me up. Need help

Hi all,

I've just made a post a day before about buying a new white fit.

well, i was at the dealership to pick up the car. everything was as expected except the sales pull the car into the lot.

the car looks brand new. but it has 200 miles on the clock instead of 4( 4 miles was advertised on the paper). I am not too conerned about the milage. but what gets me is the wheels.

The wheels on the car are the base steelies. My purchase is a 07 sport 5 spd mt. everthing on the car is sport standard but the wheels.

So, I brought this to the dealers attention. long story short. We talked for about two hours just try to resolve the matter. I requested discount on the price of the car. the dealer refused. I requested them to just swap the 08 sports wheels for me. they refused too, saying that they couldn't do so. And I know they have another 07 sport in their inventory but it's not in the lot. but they said they cant get to it today.

I've already nailed the deal on Saturday. I am just trying to pick up the car today. Instead driving away a new fit. I left with frustration. They will hold the car until Wednesday. They said that they will have to investigate. but they werent going to promise me anything if I will get my car with the sport wheels.

They left me two options.
1 take the car as it is.
2 i can back out, they will refund my deposit.

I am taking neither. because I think this is unfair to me. I made a purchase on a brand new 07 sport. So I am expecting a sport today. I dont know what my options are. But I do believe this is a matter of trust. I wasn't able to see the car in person on saturday because they said the car was in a warehouse and was far away from the dealership. So I test drove an black 08 instead. but the purchase was still a 07 sport.

Why cant the dealership just slap on some 08 sport wheels and just let me take the car home? Dont they just want to satisfy the buyer?

Please tell me what to do? I am a little bit lost here.

Merry Chrismas

Sound like they are trying to pull a fast one on you.
They either give you a discount or the wheels.
If they refuse then take your money back and go to another dealer.

they cant put the 08 wheels because it has the tps.(tire pressure sensor) . the 07 models do not have this feature. shoot tell them to take 1300 dollars off(isn't that the price of the set of wheels at the dealer) the price. you will probably be upgrading to better rims in the near future. so take the advantage of it. if i had a choice i would do that. but yes...in your case i would say FCuk off and i would leave that dealership, if they didn't negotiate .

+1 RUN as far as you can from that dealer. They can't guarantee that a brand new Sport may or may not come with the standard 15" alloys that you're paying for? They discussed it for 2 hrs? That's bollocks. They also lied about the mileage -- how far away is their friggin warehouse, and what happened in the 196 miles they didn't tell you about? Having a white Fit is fine and dandy, but don't take it in the rump just for a color preference. They should be kissing your ass to sell the car, not the other way around.

(bit more blunt than I'd usually be, sorry, it's late)

I would get my deposit back and find another dealer. I know you are excited and anxious because you are so close to that new car smell... but you are the customer, and a salesman should be bending over backwards for you.... oh yeah and 300 miles is not a new car., plus, they are ripping you off on the wheels.. even if it meant waiting a few weeks, i'd look at a different dealer. who knows, maybe when ask for your deposit back and they see you are serious about backing out, they'll throw you a bone. I'd leave that dealer though. just my 2 cents.

This is bizarre. What else in that car did they swap out too? Don't buy it. Something is up. Maybe the tires aren't brand new either. That car had to have had the alloy wheels when it rolled off the boat. Is it really a Sport model or did they just beef up a base? Check for cruise, aux jack below stereo, etc.

By the way, I saw a Fit Sport in a parking lot with standard wheels. Was wondering how that is possible. I wonder if some dealers swap out the wheels and then sell the alloy ones on the side.

Maybe the car got stolen off the lot and they took it for a ride, then stole the stock 15" rims. Then they stuck the stock steelies on ?

Either way, sport fits come with 15" alloys and they are BS'ing you. RUN! It is just like buying a Turbo Supra, but they can't promise the turbos are included?!?

very smart of you not to drive off cause once you did that is basically
signature that you have accepted the deal. your dealer is trying to screw
you.

i guess the question is how much you are willing to pay for that white fit.
i mean come on, it's a year old, 200 miles on the clock, and non-sport
wheels. is it really worth it?

if so, keep fighting it or just take the damn car get some service coupons
and find some nice aftermarket wheels. (you can get a decent set for
like $600 with tires).

or just get another color, new and 4miles.

Option number 2
Find another dealership. Why reward that kind of behavior by giving them your money? On top of that, based on this issue, do you really feel confident that everything else on the car is up and up?

Casual conversation as long as you own your Fit.

"Hey livd, that's a Fit, I like it. Where did you buy it?"
"I picked it up at XYZ but went to this other place ABC first but had issues. They tried to screw me over by....."

I've been doing that to a Dodge dealership since April of 1998 and a few other businesses almost as long. I have no doubt I cost people money

Wow! What a screw job. Ditto everybody above. Get what you want and what you pay for, and don't be a doormat for any crooked dealer. Good Luck!

False advertising and hard nosing..I would take my $$$ and go to another dealership. Their not worth your $$$. Nothing else try to work out.
And let them know that a complaint will be going to AMERICAN HONDA, the BBB and your Attorney General re: their biz practices.

Best wishes to you

If they dont give you EVERYTHING a Fit Sport MT is supposed to come but they are charging you full price, LEAVE man just leave. Thats a bad dealer trying to pull a fast one on you. Why do they say they cant change out the wheels, thats ridculous. Theres many Honda dealers go to another and make a deal.

Merry Christmas

Who is this dealer?

Who is the crooked dealer? You should not only not buy from them, but also let as many people as possible know that they will hose you if they can. What A-holes. I'm so glad you were paying attention.

Merry Christmas to you all, by the way! You guys have made this past year much more fun than it would have been without you. Thanks, everyone!

Same to you, Joe. Remember to feed your squirrels some Christmas cheer. Obese squirrels can't reach the trans. solenoid wires.

Yes, I carved them a little Christmas tree from a block of rat poison.
I hope they're enjoying it.
Just in case, I also carved a Menorah (that was a real bitch) and some Kwaanzaa decorations. Unfortunately, I missed out on the possibility that they might be celebrating Ramadan last month.
