Go ahead

Dude, the Fit has more than enough power, and MAN it's a fun car to drive. Not just the MT, either, the AT is a fun drive. The best deal in automotive shopping, too.

imo it works fine, but a nice hill down doesnt hurt,
and on the "up"side - meaning going uphill- i can pass people no problem -

**fellow CT-ers - the big hill going to woodbridge out of new haven? after the tunnel - i ask why does everyone go sooooo slow up it?**

***everyone else -
push the pedal pull the paddle. easy as that***

Ditto to what everyone else has said. It's not a power monster, but it definitely has enough, especially if you let it rev. I have no problems passing people when required.

Buy it, you'll love it

I picked up my Fit less than a week ago. Drove from Dallas down to Austin (195 miles) at 75MPH the whole way... and got ~38mpg for that trip.

The Fit had no problems with it. It will downshift if you set the cruise and hit a bit of an incline (auto trans), and will downshift to 3rd if you stomp on it.

I was able to take my Fit up to 90mph recently, which is the fastest I've taken it yet. I wanted to go for 100mph but that would have taken forever, plus I'm not yet confident enough to downshift well. I work it in here and there.

However, at 90mph, the Fit was surprisingly planted. I felt like it wasn't going to to anywhere I didn't want it to go. Everything seemed to smooth.

Also, I got a taste of how well it handles. I did a quick lane change at 80mph and now I just wanna do that everytime I get on the highway. Unless you hit a surprisingly large pothole on the highway, the Fit is going to stay where you want it.

I really wanna do another quick lane change, but alas, I have to go to class first:
PROGRAM fail
REAL:: fail
DO kill yourself
WRITE(*,*) "Why aren't you dead yet, Fortran?"
READ(*,*) fail
END DO
END PROGRAM

If your worried about power on the highway, get a manual, and an intake and you'll be set.

I was "racing" (mostly just driving together) a guy in a modded Integra Sunday night on my way to school, kept up with him all the way to 95mph no problem. The car felt rock solid at 95, totally confident. Backed down just because of traffic. I was able to take some tight turns a lot faster than he was.
