best handling FF

do you mean front driver?
HMM... hadnling can be defined many ways.
it has the best body roll control, grip, and steering feel of anything in its class, and holds its own with more expensive cars.
so i gues yeah, to a certain extent. but to not make things complicated i'll just say its the best in its class.

i too am trying to convince my co worker to buy a fit.
he doesnt really like the body style. but i told him...just go test drive one, and you will change your mind. i also told him to go to fitfreak.net to take a look at what others have done with their fits.

I would definitely put it up there although I couldn't make a judgment without driving them all of course. I think the Mini Cooper S I test drove was better but I've heard that they understeer like crazy at the limit. It definitely handled better than the Neon SRT-4 I tried. I wouldn't hesitate to put my modded (RSB, GS210's, soon Heliums + RT-615's) against a stock Cooper S or RSX in the twisties.

I forgot about the Mini Copper S.That is 1 serious car around corner's.On a test drive the salesman went about 35 into a dead round about(I tought for sure we were going to eat it)but the car took it,even on the rocky uneven pavement, without much fuss. But the Copper S was 24k were the Fit's are around 17-18k.It is worth the money they charge if you like the style and you can afford.(It also has a good aftermarket behind it)

For price, features, and handling I dont think the fit is easily beat if beat
at all in FF.
If for FF you want to spend more dough (and in most cases WAY more dough) then there are cars that can out handle, brake and accelerate it.
But from my experiences and what I have reaserched "out handling" the
Fit is not that easy to do in FF trim. The new Mini (mk I-III would walk all
over it all day long) does not out handle the Fit by a big margin. And the
mugen si I highly doubt it WAY outhandles the Fit. I would say most cars are faster than the Fit hands down! But few handle significantly better.
...again all things considered the Fit is silly tough to beat.

im benchmarking my modded cooper-s through a pre-determined
off-camber crappy exit ramp, scoring stability by speed.
right now the weakest link in my FitSport's setup are:
1) shitty tires. Falken912's. they are POS.
2) dampers are too soft.
how i plan to fix this area:
1) RE750's on 16's. too bad all GS-D3's are now made in China.
2) aftermarket dampers, not sure which kind yet.

Do I have to post the most compelling numbers tested by car and driver.
As an example, the Fit that ran away with our econocar comparo last year [“Cheap Skates,” C/D, May 2006] posted a lane-change number — 71.4 mph — that edges the best run by the Ferrari F430 Spider F1 we tested last June
The only other production car I have seen do better is the porsche 911 rs.
The lane change numbers tell a lot about the cars tossability, steering response, body roll, adhesion limit, cornering speed, and overall agility.
