I came from a 98 Buick Regal does that count? haha. Thats my beater car. I actually came from a 05 GMC Sierra and a 04 VW GTI VR6. The VR6 had great power but didnt handle like i wanted it to. It was to nose heavy and just plowed through corners but it would pull out of them like a madman. My buddy had a Mini Cooper base and we did alot of runs together and he would always get me in the corners but on the straights i would get him. The fit does lack in power compared but suspension wise it has it beat hands down. I actually like the Fit alot more. The only thing i wish is that i still had climatronic and auto wipers. I really miss those features. The moonroof and leather i can live without. The truck was fun until gas prices went through the roof so i got rid of that real quick. I had a brute force intake, full exhaust, and a chip. It liked to burn tires but i only actually used it once and that was to tow the buick when i blew the head gasket. Trucks are a waste imo unless you are always pulling a trailer.

lol... I guess you didn't have the GS? I just got my GTP back on the road after 2 years (was setup for track, etc) after selling my '06 GMC Sierra. Got sick of 13mpg in the truck, and we usually use a friends truck to tow our trailer anyhow.

Haha. Sounds like you had a similar setup to me. Thats too funny. My Buick is just an LS with its many issues so i dont drive it that much these days. The head gasket is on its way again, the tranny is failing, and the electrics are screwed. Otherwise its a nice car. haha. Im gonna keep it and tinker with it. It keeps me out of trouble.

Go for Fit. I had a Z350 about a year and I really like it: good acceleration, lots of power, fast and expensive. When I started university I had to pay for it a lot + gas and living expensys so I decidet to replace my car for something les expensive. I decidet to go with Fit and I must say this was a best think I have done. Fit has a great heandling, extrimly fan to drive (I drive a lot more than 500miles per week mostly on highway and i'm nat tired of Fit) enough power nat too much not too les just right for this size of car. Sometimes I fill like there is not enough power but fit pays off by its great milage and filling. More, it is much better practical car for everyday use. I think that You wont be dissapointed with Fit

I'm thinkin about trading my Civic Si in for a 08 Fit. Its nice to read so many good things about this car. The only thing that concerns me is the mid range power. For example, I can slap my Si into 4 gear on the interstate and slide by to pass someone fairly easy. Does the Fit pass well despite its lack of power?

From my experience with Fit I didn't have problem with that. When you press fit at each gear up to 6000-6500 rpm it really goes.

We just sold our 06 WRX with a bunch of mods and picked up a Fit Sport in white a few days ago.

Very impressed with the sharp turning and handling with this little guy---even though it lacks the speed factor it makes it up in other ways that make it a pretty darn fun car to drive.

Hope the mod bug doesn't infect me too much---but not sure I can shake my mod addiction.

2000 cagiva mito 125

2000 suzuki gixer sixer

98 triumph daytona t595

I'm on the same boat. Gas mileage is not a priority to me. I got the Fit as a third car, and I got it b/c it was the best lil' car out there in terms of build quaility, handling and aesthetics, IMO.

I currently own a 507HP 2007 M5 that is my daily driver as well. I drive the Fit when I go long distances, such as trips to Vegas (I live in LA) and trips to the furniture store. I think I kinda know your question.......

I don't miss the 400 missing horses when I drive the Fit. You fall into a drifferent mindset when you drive this car. The power is ample for 98% of the roads and accelleration you could encounter on a daily basis. It's not so much that it lacks power, it's moreso that you don't really crave it. And the Fit is so light and nimble that driving it is such a pleasure.

On the flip side, when I am driving the M5, everytime I get on the gas, I am thinking how I can get more HP out of the V10. It's a mindset thing... and you won't really miss it b/c the Fit is great. Never does it feel cramped or not well put together, so you don't focus on the missing HP at all.

Analogy: You date a hot chick with a nice big rack... and you always want them even bigger. Then you date Jessica Alba... and suddenly, you don't focus so much on her chest but everything else!

More power out of an M5? Ah man thats one of my favorite 4 door saloons ever. Go to Dinan and let them tweak it for you. A couple grand will get you a nice increase unless you want the 600+HP 5.7L V-10 for $40,000 .
I honestly couldnt do it. Going from an M5 to the fit. Even for a 3rd car i would only use it for a beater and nothing more. Maybe if its raining or something but it would be very hard to not take the M5 everywhere. Props to you for being able to do it
