I have def seen them around. haha. I cant remember the site that i go to, i think its 3.8lperformance.com or something. Its been awhile since i have been there and seeing the car isnt in the best shape now i doubt im gonna need anything for it anyway. I do need to find a 3800 gen II that i can rebuild and a new tranny tho. The body is straight its just the junk motor acting up all the time.

i finally got to test drive one on friday. it was an auto but still had no troubles on the highway though it was admittedly a very flat section of highway. felt good driving too, crisp handling and good driving feel. however, i think that i am going to go with the 3 hatchback instead. it has more oomph, i'd be getting one with leather/sunroof/upgraded sound, and, most importantly, the offers i've been getting for the 3 are better than those for the fit. dealers don't have to try to sell the fit and it's not easy to get one the way you want. one offer i got for my car was $2500 less than another, different brand dealer offered me for my car. so i liked the fit and think it would be fine for me but i don't think i'm going to buy one

I can undertand that. I actually like the inerior of the 3 better, but my wife would have NOTHING to do with it. The only two cars she liked after test driving practically everything in the 15 - 25k price range was the Fit and the WRX 5-door. The Fit and WRX are similar in their sharpness.

After the first few ridiculous offers by the Honda dealership they started to negotiate. My final deal was kbb trade in on my trade, invoice on the Fit (made them bring out the invoice for proof), and they threw in the all weather floor mats, cargo mat, and rear cover free.

The Fit doesn't pass anything except stationary vehicles. It just makes noise while the tach screams its way up to 5000 rpm. Don't expect anything like performance with its stock 1.5l motor.

I come from a long long period of 100% devotion to Nissans, specially the SR20DE

BTW, here is a photo of my '99 SE-R for reference. Wow did I love that car. 15.4 @ 88mph with just a header and intake:

I understand the Nissan thing (ran a 14.40 @ 96mph) This wasn't the fastest car that I've owned, but I do miss it. Was more of a do everything car with custom leather, JIC coilovers, Brembo's, tons of Dynamat, a serious stereo, etc. Still have a 240sx that might be a project car someday...

I currently have a Lexus IS300 and a 91 Integra GS. I was heavy into cars aabout 15-20 years ago but now I'm an old guy with a family. Went to the Honda dealership to checkout the CRVs for my wife. While she was looking at them a sales guy came up to me and we started talking about my Integra and old school Hondas and how Honda has lost some its magic in some of the newer cars...he then shows me the FIT and I was impressed. He let me drive it and I was even more impressed. The FIT is retro in a sense that it goes back to square one of why I originally bought a 86 CRX Si, a 90 CRX Si, and my Integra. The drive actually reminded me of my old CRXs just with more room and more refinement. I didn't come home with one, but now I'm thinking of selling the IS300 to get the FIT! Wife thinks I'm crazy.

The spirit of Honda lives on in this little car.
