Help me I'm a drafting addict

Man it's amazing how I have become hooked on drafting on the Freeway.
It's not like I'm so close at 1+ sec I'd get stooped or even a concern by the host, but I'm just not happy anymore without a host.

I'm telling you it's a sold 5 to 6 mph at 65 to 70 mph and by far the most effective thing I have tried.

You meant mpg right?
Do you notice a difference between and SUV and a typical car?
Or would you/do you notice a diff between a semi and a typical car?

I know what ya mean, right now I am hooked on hitting lights at just the right time while not holding up traffic. I consider it a loss when a car goes around me.

Maybe you should go to a DA meeting...?

haha do you want helping stopping your addiction? i guess you already know it's a little bit more unsafe compared to giving yourself some bumper space (especially on the freeway). so maybe if you ever get into a bad accident because someone in front of you emergency braked and you didn't have enough space to react, then you might have a better chance of changing your ways?

i really think drafting is not a smart thing to do because you're relying on the driving habits/skills of the stranger whom you're tailgating. but some people are adamant about drafting so to each his/her own...

Snap yep mpg a
nd it's exclusively large box trucks. I do not draft anything smaller.

Now for this that diss that. Go out and see how far you are from the rear of a large truck at 1+ sec and report back.

Also I'm 100% certain I can out stop one no matter what.

Just washed my car and not a single nick on the front.

I had drafted a while back, until a huge piece of retread came flying out from under the truck infront of me. Flipped the bumper lip inside out and bent my radiator... luckily I was driving my fit...

I'll do it on occasion on long trips with tractor-trailers, and I always wonder at the time if the driver knows or cares that I'm doing it..

WTH, I think it's a stupid thing to do...

1/ Safety, why depend yr life on the guys in front of you...

2/ Where is the most dirty & debris-full area ? BEHIND the cars (especially those huge trucks )

IMO, totally not worth to save a few MPG, consider yr trade-off for safety and yr car paint and windshield (...and FRESH air for your intake, yeah)

lol...i just express what i'm thinking, and i think it's logical

This is a open forum, and pp have rights to express what they're thinking (as long as it's not against the rules)

I could careless if u agree with me or not...it's your Fit after all

It's just that I've read several bizarre ways pp use to save couple of their MPGs.

Some of these methods (like some of the tricks in the "hypermileage") are quite dangerous to your life & may cause damage to your car, which return in much bigger $ to repair in the long run

i dont draft but as long as the driver is atleast a considerable distance away from the host. I dont think it's that bad. There are always accidents that can happen and it sucks when you watch rocks or tire treads just flying outta no where hitting the drafting car.
