Pretty cool, but comparing heavily modified cars to stock ones is massively misleading.

"Unlimited potential! First of all, the base car comes very cheap, so it makes it relatively easy for shops, tuners and racing fans to compete and race with this car. The tires and wheels are small, so they're easy to replace cheaply. Being small and light is an advantage when racing. For example, stripping a 55-pound A/C unit from a Fit that only weighs a ton will award more positive results than just doing the same to a heavy NSX."

That is hard to believe but I guess handling and power to weight ratio is what really matters around the track huh?
It comes in faster because the fit doesn't need to make pit stops, or not as much as the NSX anyway.

...so I am thinking to myself that when I plan to take this to some local time attack events, losing a few inches off the waistline and dropping a few needed pounds is also an advantage.

I dunno...I mean, you'd have to be losing a lot of weight for it to be a really significant difference...but hey - healthy lifestyles are good, no matter the reason.

I could really lose another 15lbs to be @ my prime fighting weight. I can't wait till I get this car at an event and hopefully plus trak wheel spacers by H&R in the future is my goal.

I suppose it depends where on your body you lose weight, lol.

Anyone seen the Best Motoring DVD, "Factory Fighters"?

The Evo MR has a 4kg-lighter roof than the standard Evo VIII, and they wanted to see if it made a difference. They ran a stock Evo MR and then ran the same car with a 4kg rubber mat on the roof. There was a real noticeable difference, both in time and even more so in driving feel. Goes to show that losing weight off the top of one's car, especially a higher car like the Fit can really make a big difference.

So, that begs the question, can you lose a few lbs off your head? That might make a difference...your feet....not so much, lol.

I was informed that there is a video or dvd floating around with the Spoon Sports Fit passing the Cucso Street version STi on Tasukba in the final corner on the outside. The guys in the STi are going crazy and can't beleive that they got passed...

I think I saw this video the other day. Try searching it up on video.google.com. I forgot the exact keywords that I used, but try "Fit", "Honda Fit", or "Spoon", or some combination of those. There are a few other nice Spoon Fit videos on there as well.

It's funny to see rookie ricer time attackers at events with 17" wheels, park-bench spoiler, fully maxed out triple heavy subs in the backtrunk and the spare tire trying to shave off time.

I wonder how light a Fit could get if everything that was not needed was taken out. A/C, extra seats, carpeting, door panels etc. If you could get it down to about 1,800 lbs it would be a rocket even with the stock motor.

The Spoon modified Fit only weighs a ton according to this interview. This is in Japan, so most likely it's in SI units, which is about 2204.622622 lbs.

I'm thinking that you could get the Fit in the 1800lbs area honestly. The NA Fit has so much extra saftey features on it that is only weight to come out...
