Is the Spoon FIT as fast as an NSX???

Did anyone else catch this?

"At Motegi circuit last weekend, our Fit ran for three hours on 40 liters of gasoline and finished with the same time as a stock NSX."

"Unlimited potential! First of all, the base car comes very cheap, so it makes it relatively easy for shops, tuners and racing fans to compete and race with this car. The tires and wheels are small, so they're easy to replace cheaply. Being small and light is an advantage when racing. For example, stripping a 55-pound A/C unit from a Fit that only weighs a ton will award more positive results than just doing the same to a heavy NSX."

That is hard to believe but I guess handling and power to weight ratio is what really matters around the track huh?

ahahahaha..

i've to say that when i tried driving it (back home in indonesia), i can definitely feel a better pull on it...compared to my civic...

even though my dad's fit only got 88 (something) HP....but it's 1 ton lighter, eh? LOL

Stock 1.5L VTEC Jazz does a 16.6sec standing quarter mile.

The Honda official 12 secs to 100km/hr is very conservative with consistent runs of 8.9sec being achieved with the CVT auto. See http://asia.vtec.net/Reviews/JazzVtec/index.html

Some comparisons lifted from Aug 2004 Australian wheels magazine
0-60km/h
Fiesta Ghia (4.5sec)/Barina CD (5.0sec)/Jazz VTi (4.2sec)/Mazda 2 Neo (4.5sec)
0-100km/h
Fiesta Ghia (10.7sec)/Barina CD (11.7sec)/Jazz VTi (9.3sec)/Mazda 2 Neo (10.4sec)
0-400m(1/4 mile)
Fiesta Ghia (17.3sec@128km)/Barina CD (17.8sec@125km)/Jazz VTi (16.6sec@134km)/Mazda 2 Neo (17.2sec@132km)

For a car that uses just 5L/100km on the highway its amazing.

CF bonnets don't do it for me either. Makes the car look like it hasn't finished being resprayed when it came back from the panel beaters. 'Panel beaters special'.

From a safety perspective cf doesn't crumple like normal metal but splinters and goes into shards. Could do without half a bonnet in the head in an accident.

back to the topic...

it really depends on what you're talking about..

small and light weight car can turn good compared to heavy car.

what you mean fast?? turning? straight?

They were the only pictures posted. I'm sure you could track down the company who's demo car it was and ask them all about it. I don't know if its all for real or not but it looks the ducks guts.
