Depends one what your looking for. I personally like the looks of the current gen fits but the 09's are gonna be alot more packed with goodies and gizmo's. Also im not a big fan of the looks of them. Thats just my thoughts though. I havent really looked at the 09's all that close so im not sure when they are due out to be honest with you. I have just read a bunch of info on them from other threads. Not my style but your gonna be the one driving it and making the payments. Good luck on your decision.

By now! Fit is Go! Fit no Wait!

simple question simple answer...
I suppose I could elaborate each time...but that would make the search button lonely

I'm waiting. I test drove the 08 and love it but then I learned the new fit will have 9 more hp, 21 ft lbs more torque, it will be longer, wider, have higher quality interior fabric, better seats and the availability of all wheel drive, plus a non-opening sunroof. I think the color selection is supposed to be better too.

I wonder if the seats will be changable with the 07 and 08 version. They look much more comfortable.

Where did you read that the 09 fit will have optional AWD or a sunroof??? I especially call BS on the AWD.

Wait it out man. It will be worth it, the new Fit is better in prertty every expect looks(for some people). It will be worth the wait if you can do that.

Wait.

The 2009 Fit has taller gearing, allowing for better highway fuel economy.

Get a 2008. With the new ones coming out you should be able to get a great deal in a few months. Also, the new ones are ugly as hell and the interior has been turned into a rave.

I dont care much for the nedw ones. They are longer cause the front end is Crazy long looking. It does have some cool features, i just dont like the way it looks, USDM one anyway.

I am in the same boat, but I am leaning towards the '09. I like the extra features and I think it looks more "slick". I am glad that Honda chose to keep the new Fit as more of an "evolutionary" upgrade instead of a whole new design.

My S2000 will have to live as a commuter car instead of a pampered garage queen for a few more months, I guess.

well the 2nd gen fits are ofcourse bigger. More power/torque. Probably will respond better to mods. But i dont know looks are very important to me and i' prefer the current gen Fits.

What's the expected increase in price from 2008 to 2009? With all the extras, you may find a big price jump between the two.

you could always wait for the 09 to come out and see if you really like it or not. if you do, get it. if not, you can look for a used 07-08.

the 09 may be in a different price range too, thanks to the improvements. does anyone know the projected msrp?

Leg room for the taller guys like me, 6'3.
One one video review posted in the '09 thread, the guy mentioned more left foot leg room, that's a big issue for me.
Most cars lately don't have as much as they gave in the '97 Civic, so if it's got more room, that's gonna be a big factor for me.
Just wait and test drive both.

ConsumerReports.org - Videos

Also if they worked the suspsension over and it's a better ride, definitely grabbing the '09.
I read an article in the paper that the 07/08s were tough for longer rides, so we'll see about that issue as well.

I would say buy now because imo I think the new 09 fit is really ugly.
