I'm generally pretty cool when it comes to most other drivers who cant value their vehicle worth ****
but I was out at the asian market tonight helping my gf pick up a few items and when i came back to my car. BAM some p.o.s Honda parked inches away from my driver's side, and what with him, a nice door scuff on my fit. I'd had been doing my best to prevent this ever since I got my BOM last month, and I knew here in AZ its an unavoidable truth, but im out there eye raping it with my phone and the guy comes out from the store hes in and just casually gets in his car, when reversing now coming millimeters now from hitting my car.
Does anyone else get this? or am I the only one? *SHAKES FISTS*

ps. I ordered touch up paint a few days ago but its so minor yet obvious it wouldn't apply well.

 

this is exactly why my FitS is a dd...

 

this is sadly just a way of life. all you can do is park as far away from everyone as you can. otherwise, its 200 bucks wasted at the paintless dent pros.

 

I bought dent protection with my car. I know not everyone does, but it makes the pain a little less. But yeah, I am with you on this one. Totally rude and pointless. Irritating beyond belief too! I would want to get him.

 

I'm in a lose/lose sit.
I park close and get door slammed.
or I park far and get it stolen. people here flatbed cars, just tow them right away. how cold!

my FIT has like 8-9 noticeable dents on the doors....due to wife not caring when opening the BMW's door.....

both cars parked in the garage.....next to each other

I tried parking to the passenger side of the BMW...but the kids made it worst....

can't win.......

 

that does really suck.

after i got my first dent i bought the colored moldings from zeta products, and i've actually witnessed them protecting my door from more dings (a**holes with shopping carts, you know the drill).

 

I was looking into that. do they protrude enough to protect from door dings?
I'm still infuriated. How can someone not care even for their cars? when I had my Subaru all kinds of cars would smack it upside the door panels. poor thing. n__n

since i've had them, i've had no door dings. they don't stick out far enough that they look tacky or anything, but here was the other thread with some pics i posted:

seriously, it pisses me off so much that people are that rude. like the other day i was at target (with a horrible flu, hence why i parked close) for 10 minutes, come out to the stupid woman in the minivan next to me "resting" her cart on my fit, at least that's what she said. thankfully it was "resting" right on the moldings, or she would've gotten coughed on and caught a nasty flu herself.

 

I would have kicked his door in and took off.

 

Haha, late last year I was sitting in my car in a Walmart parking lot. This older guy and his 8 or 9 year-old son come pushing their cart over to their SUV parked next to me on the right. The guy unloads his bags into the backseat, and decides to just push and leave the cart in front of his SUV and he gets back in and is about to back out. All of the sudden there was a gust of wind, and all 3 of us from our seperate vehicles watched in horror as his cart rolled in my car's direction, closer, closer....

....and smacked right into the passenger front area. I looked over at the guy and his kid right after, they were absolutley mortified, the guys face was all red and he looked like he had just seen a ghost. I checked but there was no damage and they left.

 

I regret not doing it, though I think my gf would have been a little shocked.

I am not a generally angry person(atleast not since I got my fit n_n), though punching him in the throat seemed reasonable. btw Storm I would keel over and die if a shopping car even grazed my fit.
A paint scratch, though minor, is still a large piece of my heart withering in pain . this is my first new car and I was really hoping to keep from any paint issues, every time I take my fit somewhere and I'm close by I literally watch it hardcore, and when someone is getting ready to pull out, I find someway to hopskip over to my car and watch them careeefullllyyyy get in, after previously just punching their door open when arriving.

Im such a bastard.

 

I will park so far away from anything that nobody ever wants me to drive anywhere I hate door dings, I get them at work, and I swear that if I'm ever in my Fit and I get a door ding the owner will regret doing it for the rest of their life.

I'm thinking about carrying a hammer in my back seat so I can smash in headlights of cars who's owners are so inconsiderate...

 

That's why I park in the way back of every parking lot...

I even park in the WAY back of Walmart - which is about 30 spots away from the nearest car. I just don't want my car's value to depreciate because of another's carelessness.

Lucky for me many people around here drive big ass SUVs so our parking spaces are rather wide, and with the Fit being so small if I can get right in the middle of the spot then I usually have lots of room between the others cars and I.

 

Where are you parking that the spots are so big? Everything by West Farms has tiny lots, I feel cramped in them even in the Fit. A lot of the stuff from what I've seen around the Valley area is pretty tight too.

color moldings on doors is not there really for protection... ok, if the
door that's hitting your car is at the exact height where that molding
is, then it MIGHT take the impact without bending the door panel
under it.

my LegacyWgn has molding, doesn't do shit. i had to PDR my car
6 times already since ownership. (i have PDR tools and experience )

those moldings are cosmetic only. and makes it that much
harder to wax because you got another thing to go around.

 

I've gotten into plenty of fights because of this same BS... The thing that confuses me is Why would you let them just drive away??? At the very least, confront them and have them pay for the damages. If not, I'd make sure their car recieves more damages than the inflicted damges on my car.
