What sold you on the Fit?
Needed a new car and had no idea what I wanted. Pulled into every type of dealer in the city and test drove several. Nothing felt like "the one"
When I got to Honda I spotted the Fit and said "I love that car" I have never owned anything so small.
Had never heard of a Fit
Test drive sold me along with
mileage
spaciousness
interior design
room for lugging LOTS of stuff (was looking for another mini-van --wince) Room for passengers and a labrador!
colour
the Honda name and the safety features
I could go on and on but the search stopped immediately - the only hard part was to decide between the orange and blue. Blue won as I found the orange not deep enough (coppery) for my tastes.

Originally I bought a Versa because of the good rear knee room and larger engine that gets mpg as good as the FIT, dismissed the Yaris as just too small in every way and drove poorly.
I sold my Versa because it simply was not a driver's car, practicality aside, and bought the FIt because it is such a nice driving car as much as any of the dozen or so Hondas we've owned, including several HX's. (40+ mpg with 1700 cc, not a hybrid)
Since I drive it mostly by myself and carry big people and heavy only occasionally the Fit is perfect. Of course I did fix a few deficiencies: airlift shocks in rear to handle heavy back seat 'stuff' (tho the people stuff might not be as roomy the better ride and handling make up for lesser knee room) and disconnecting the antisway bar to reduce the terminal understeer. Doesn't mean you should; most people do better with understeer tho I think the Fit overdoes it.
And now, being old I find I really like the paddle shifters for increasing performance and mpg. But, I am fabricating semicircle paddle acuators to avoid chasing the paddles in corners. Engineers just can't help 'improving' things but my Honda engineering friends have already expressed interest in seeing my semicircular paddles. They finally admitted they had the same concerns.
And that's why I am glad I bought my Fit. When I get my disc rear brakes from overseas it'll be right.
Honda apparently is working on a turbo model but I'm not in that market. If want to go fast I have a CRX SiR to do that. 180 hp in a 2000 lb Honda will scare Vettes. Especially in the rain.

OH YEAH I FORGET!!!
A set of 4 16x7 Wheels with racing rubber Fit absolutely perfect in the cargo area. I mean perfect. No need for a trailor come track day. I can fold up the rear seat and put my jack, tools, replacement parts on the floor and my A048s can go in the cargo area. Of couse that probably will change once I get my rear strut brace

Im a HUGE fan of the Civic Wagovans. The Fit basically is the new age Wago.
Also; its a new car, I needed to establish credit, prices is great, its a Honda, and its cute hella cute.

Ever since i got my first honda/acura car I've not wanted to get anything else. For my next car i was looking for fuel economy, small but roomy and the FIT just is what it's all about. I looked at the Yaris sedan, and i didn't like it. Looked at the yaris hatch: too small. Looked at the versa: ugly did some research and came down to 2 different cars: The Scion XD and the Fit. Test drove both and the FIT is GO!!!!!!!
Got onto FitFreak and ever since I've seen everyone's nice ass rides, I want the FIT even more.
I'll be getting the FIT in about 8 months
peace,

One of the biggest things that sold the fit for me was the fact that is was a small car that I ( a big guy ) could fit into. Also the fact that it is a sportsy looking car that gets good gas mileage.
There are many reasons but one of the top reasons actually was the paddle shifters. I love putting the car in s mode and being able to have a little fun. My second top reason is the seat configurations and how much cargo you can haul with that thing. Other then that, I liked the styling, I'm a Honda fan, good fuel economy, good handling, affordable. It was the perfect car for me.
I was sold on everything. I love hatches, and was not going to buy anything other than a hatch. My first car was a hatch, so I'm partial. The handling is just amazing. It looks great, the MPG is just amazing.
AAAND of course, the magic seats. That is just amazing. I let a freind ride in the back with the front seat folded back, and they said they'll never ride shotgun the same way again.
