Depending on how much I floor it, I get between 270-290 miles before the light comes on. I drive mostly in town, but do occasionally take my Fit up on the highway.

I usually get to about 285-295 when the light comes on, and I drive a good ~30 miles before filling up. I shift between 3000 and 3500rpm into 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, but shift at 3000 when going into 5th.

I get about 380 miles until the fuel light comes on.

Not joking. I used to get only about 270 miles when I drove like a nut. Now I'm all about maximizing mileage.

380-390 sounds about right for around 40mpg. That's right in the range for what I'm getting using some, but not all, hypermileage techniques. I want to see someone push it over 400 miles consistently on one tank. Bring your extra one-gallon gas tank with you.

I'm at 406 miles right now on the tank - and the light is not on yet. The needle is touching the upper-right hand corner of "E"... so about 20 more miles till the light comes on. Then another gallon to go. I should be able to get ~ 460 miles on this tank.

I get around 270 a tank and thats a combination of city and highway. I do alot better on just highway but in traffic i cant stand slow drivers so i usually do alot of passing.

Thanks. As a follow-up: the fuel light came on at 408 miles (earlier than I thought it would). For this tank: 425.2 miles, 9.300 gallons ==> 45.72 MPG.

How can I get those (fuel economy numbers)?
  • http://www.cleanMPG.com - Hypermile...
  • Accelerate slower (act as if a raw egg is between your foot and the gas pedal)
  • Up your tire pressure to max sidewall pressure (mine are at 55 PSI)
  • When you see a yellow/red light ahead, coast to the light (Fit uses 0.2-0.3 gallons/hour at idle)
  • Drive no faster than the speed limit
  • Drive 55 on the highway (in the far-right lane, of course)

You can dramatically improve your fuel economy numbers!

I drive 60+ miles a day & that's about where I'm at too! I just bought a K&N... hopefully it'll help!

I squeezed 350 out of my last tank, averaging 38MPG on my daily commute.

Very good mileage!

Just think - you're getting better fuel economy than 95% of the population.

Yeah, I finally achieved my goal of making it 200 miles on half a tank. I think I got 217-220 on a half tank, hoping to beat the 350 this time. I pay close attention to the Scan Gauge everyday now. I really think that having the TPS displayed helps a lot because I can see how far I'm putting my foot into it!
