Anyone who has this problem should notify American Honda and their local dealer if the car is under warranty or not. Honda has been very good in the past about repairing problems that they know about. Register your car at Honda's owner link website to get notified of any service bulletins or warrantee extensions. The URL is: https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp

I owned a 1980 Accord 4 door sedan that had about 70,000 miles when the rear seat upholstery began falling apart due to the sun beating down on it from the rear window. Honda replaced the seat covers with new ones and I only paid for the labor to install them.

My current 2000 Accord Coupe V6's transmission failed last year, at 93,000 miles, after the extended warranty on the transmission, seven years or 100,000 miles, had expired. Honda still replaced the transmission for free and paid for a rental car for three days.

My power steering has been out for 4 months. My dealership has told me that I have to replace it to the tune of $3,300!
Honda Canada won't do anything.
I have only had this car for 7 years and not at 200,000 kms yet.
Their suggestion is to get a new car. NOT happy with Honda at all. Likely the last time I will purchase anything from them.
