My clear coat is peeling on a new Fit!

The clear coat at the edge of my hood is peeling. It is on the right side by the headlight. The car is brand new, only has 3000 miles on it. I also think I see the clear coat peeling on the roof along the door sills. Has anyone else had this problem out of a new Fit? What can I do about it?

Thanks.

i bet it isnt the clear coat... it is probably the clear protective film that they stick to the car during shipment to keep the car from getting scratched. I just brought mine home yesterday and noticed some of it left over on the edge of my hood to. It peels right off.

Correct^

If youre skeptical, take it back to Honda. You should take it back anyone and get a REAL detail done. Whoever cleaned it before sale should be fired.

I still have some on my roof too. It's been 2 years. It's tough stuff. Too lazy to try to scrub off.

yeah thats what happen to me. they freakin left a mess of that rubber or whatever it is. its like that film or what not.

i had to clean it up myself. but i went back and told them that, they were like we made sure your car was clean, how come you didnt say anything when you left the dealer.

i was like it was dark, i was tired, and i was super excited to own my fit. sorry for telling the truth heh.

if it's what i think it is from what i read. There are stickers that are put on the car to help cover it for transport. When they take off the stickers, it leaves some adhesive around the edges of where the sticker was. To take it off, we use body prep solvent but rubbing alcohol should work fine.

It's unexcusable that they didn't take off the film, its something theyre supposed to take of
When I bought my car, it just rolled into the lot, the detailer wasnt in, and I bought the car before the place closed for the day. So the next week, they gave me a free fill up on gas, and totally detailed the car.
