Bought my 08 NHBP Sport 289mi for $18,101.13 (I know it was high but they wouldn't budge and I need to build credit anyway, and I think a car like this should cost in the 20s anyway )

Got a loan through Navy Federal for the whole thing, 5.75% 72 months and around $290 a month I owe. I'll be paying it off for a loooong time, but it's ok because I plan to keep it forever and ever

I feel your pain man. I told people about the car at my job and they all call it tiny and not worth $18k. I guess you love it or hate it. Like a Beetle or Mini. If Fit MSRP was $22,000 I wouldn't think that's outrageous..

Purchased at the end of 2007, and it'll be paid off by next month. Had planned on paying it off a few months ago, but our wedding was a little more expensive than we had anticipated.

$8500....I wonder, for all those who paid cash and owe nothing, how many of you own a house and have kids? I am willing to bet very few of you if any.

Wouldn't surprise me... but some people actually save $ (old farts like me) so that they don't have to finance expensive items (at the cost of having liquid $$ to mod immediately) but not having pmts frees /\ $$ eventually.

haha i was thinking the same thing about the "powered by mom and dad", but i couldn't really gauge the age range of the users.

but having 16 straight cash is freaking intense to me considering im still a college student. the most ive had cash was $1000 that took me a year to save.
it is understandable how people make $1000 payments per month to pay it off faster though.

I put $10K down payment and financed the rest. I decided I didn't wanna [ay any more interest so I sent the check for full amount after 6 months.
I make a great living so no mom or daddy here. As a matter of fact I'm playing it smart cause my co-workers spend all their money on high end bemz's and shit. F that.

Wife, two kids, house... own both our cars and have no credit card debt.

It can be done.

I was actually upside-down on my last few cars. It took taking a step back, looking at my loans (and modding addictions) to get myself back in good financial shape to the point where I'm ahead of the curve, not behind it.
