Yeah, bought a 350Z when I lived in FL. A few months later the fiance (well she was at the time) wanted to move back to NorCal where she was originally from. I said ok and turned down an 80k a year job to move here.

At the time I was under 25 but didn't have any accidents or tickets. Cheapest insurance I could find on the Z was between 300 and 400 and I wasn't about to pay that for car insurance!

Traded in the Z for a BIG loss. Since then, traded in another car as well....

1400 rent + payment for a Z + ungodly insurance = more then I was willing to spend on a car.

Went through my local credit union with the hospital I work for Paid $5000.00 in cash down and paid my taxes. Then I was given $1000.00 for the 11 year old Ford Ranger XLT. I have been making extra payments every month so I can pay it off early. So far only $9300.00 to go before it is all mine!

Well, since I bought it 3 days ago, I still owe $18000 on the loan. But I do have my 05 Pilot paid off ($40K s what we paid for it back then).
